Overview
About Me
I'm am environmental scientist by trade, and on the weekends I like to hike and backpack or run with my club the Hash House Harriers. Don't know what that is? Just ask! Are you a hasher? Awesome. Let's hash together!
I've explored a lot of New Mexico, and there's still so much more to see. I can point you in the direction of good New Mexican restaurants, breweries, music venues, great hikes, or anything else you're looking for in the area. Just let me know what it is you'd like to find!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I mostly host at this time, but I hope to do some traveling, and therefore surfing, in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couchsurfing experience was in Columbus, OH. The guy showed us around, took us to a restaurant, two bars and a house party. It was a fun night. I've hosted quite a bit in the recent past, and it's been a blast! I've learned something and heard an interesting story or had a cool experience with everyone I've hosted. I can't wait for more!
Interests
Biking, running, climbing (I wanna get more into it), activism (especially climate/environmental), watching movies, preserving the earth so our children can enjoy it

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Mainly alternative or indie rock. Fitz and the Tantrums, Florence and the Machine, Cage the Elephant are some of the best shows I've seen. I would love to see Muse. I also love some hip hop, especially from the 90's. I also like bluegrass or any love band I can jam to.
Movies: I like action, comedy, drama; some of my favs: Matrix, In the Line of Fire, Tigerland, Forrest Gump, Bulworth, The Fly, too many to mention; I need to see more movies - any suggestions?
Books: I like Science Fiction and fantasy. I love His Dark Materials, Arthur C. Clarke, among others. Currently reading the Marian Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. I need to read more - any suggestions?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed Long's Peak - a 14,000-foot mountain in Colorado - after an epic summer of hiking in the Colorado Rockies. It was intense! This summer experience included almost getting really badly hurt by falling off a highball on Flagstaff Mountain.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a little about plants, the weather, the climate and climate change. I'm really good at math, science and writing English. I love maps and can teach you how to use a GPS.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook. I have a variety of meals from different cuisines up my sleeve, and I love trying different foods. If also love to share a local beer or wine with you and tell you stories of my adventures.
Countries I’ve Visited
Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, Nicaragua
