About Me
UNSW Phd candidate from China. I just arrived several weeks ago so I'd like to explore more about Australia. I can speak Chinese, English and a little French. I like traveling and reading and have been to many places in China, but this is my first time to study abroad. I think it's really wonderful to meet different people from different cultural backgrounds. I'm easygoing, optimistic, and open to new possibilities. I have been keeping a diary of my life. Would you like to be part of it?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I met my German roommate two weeks ago and we really hit it off. We went hiking last week for more than 20 kilometers and the weather and scenery were wonderful! She's my first roommate in Sydney and we've had so much fun together. She recommended Couchsurfing to me and I hope I could make most of it to explore more possibilities!

Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy listening to music but actually I don't have a particular favorite type. I'm fond of all the mainstream music and also fine with rock music, punk music and so on. If I have to choose, my current favorite singer is Leonard Cohen. I'll listen to different music according to my mood.
I like various kinds of movies except horror movie. I've watched more than 300 movies, ranging from Chinese movies, Korean movies, Iranian movies to American movies, British movies, and French movies. Watching movies is just like traveling by train of thought. It leads you to a life that you never imagined in real world. You've got a chance to experience the ups and downs, to see the best and the worst and then at the end you reflect and cherish your life more.
I'm a big fan of literature and my research area is English literature. I like both English and Chinese poetry and can recite many Chinese classic poems. I also read poetry of other countries but only the translated versions in English or Chinese. I love reading fictions but who says life is less fantastic than fictions?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
--Keeping a diary for more than 500 days
--Memorizing 100 English words each day for more than 700 days
--Drove home late night safe and sound (3 hours' driving) given the fact that I was totally exhausted after two days' hard work
Teach, Learn, Share
I have spent most of my life studying. I also got several opportunities to teach students of various ages, from kindergarten students to undergraduates. Teaching and learning is also a process of sharing, sharing not only knowledge but also life experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
--my life experience (studying and traveling) in China and Australia
