ABOUT ME

Hi, thanks for reading my profile! My name is Daan. I work as a junior lecturer at the University of Humanistic Studies in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Having recently obtained a degree in American studies, I look forward to visiting the US for the first time this Summer!
I strive to be kind and considerate. I'm always interested in the ways in which people give meaning to their lives. I love talking sports, history, music, and politics. I also write and perform poetry - alas, most of it is in Dutch!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel is all about connecting with people! During my first solo trip (from the Netherlands to Armenia overland) I learned that staying in hostels or private homes is way more fun than having a big, cold, private AirBnB to yourself. Would love to have a chance to meet more locals, as that can be difficult in some countries. Also happy to hang out with people in Utrecht!
