I'm a pastor & church-planter in one of the American Lutheran denominations, currently the lead pastor of an ancient-future community church in the Kansas suburbs of Kansas City, Missouri, USA. My wife & I have been married over 20 years and have lived abroad (France & Germany) twice. We have 2 teenage sons who beat us in video games, and we both love traveling, hiking, languages and reading. I also love learning, landscaping, and leadership. And alliteration.

I'm the only extrovert in a family of four, and I embarrass my kids by talking to strangers. So for their sake, when I travel alone, I'd like to use couchsurfing to try to get to know new friends of different backgrounds and perspectives.

I went from being a couch potato to running my first Half Marathon after I turned 50-- does that count? I was running to raise money for Team World Vision.
