I am apart of a volunteer organization that's based out of Dowagiac, Michigan called One World Center. Through this program me and my team will be traveling to Africa to help the poor in countries like Malawi or Mozambique. I graduated high school right before starting this program.
I am originally from Colorado, which nurtured my love of outdoors activities. I just graduated high school
In my opinion (i'm a little biased), I'm a pretty cool gal, who is down to earth, has a lot of strong opinions. Sometimes I'm really funny. I have huge dreams of traveling to far off places and understanding cultures that go beyond American civilization. I have a dream to have stood on every inch of this world, maybe my dreams are a little large.
My soul belongs to art. I do a lot of (digital) drawing, painting, ceramics, sewing. Pretty much anything I can create with my hands, I love. My main focus is graphite, water color, and wheel throwing (if you happen to know a place that has a wheel that I can use, that would make my life a million times better)
My team consists of two girls and two guys.

So far I have stayed with hosts in Chicago, Ann Arbor, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Cleveland, St. Louis, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Tulsa, Port Arthur, Birmingham, Nashville and Memphis.
I joined couchsurfing only recently, in the beginning of August when I joined One World Center. I am so incredibly thankful that I have been introduced to this network. I have loved so deeply staying with my hosts. Every single person I have met, have been amazing and have truly given me great perspectives. Whether we stay in and watch movies, or go out on the town, I have loved every moment.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Me and my team of volunteers (4) from One World Center are doing traveling, but because we are a non-profit organization, we cannot afford to rent hotel rooms. We will be traveling for our fundraising in which we each have to raise $6,000, so we will need to be in different cities all over the country to help reach this goal. Plus then this gives us the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

I was a partner with a Special Olympics program called Unified Sports. I became friends and family so many amazing people that I went to school with.

My very favorite activity, is sitting down with a cup of coffee and talk into the wee hours of the night talking with my hosts.
My team will probably cook you food, not great food, but food none the less.
We often do a bit of cleaning for the hosts. We stayed with a little elderly lady in Kansas City, and we deep cleaned her kitchen. If you have anything like this, and we have time (we are incredibly busy with the fundraising activities) we can help clean, or fix anything broken.
