I'm Daniel, I love to meet new people and learn about different cultures, I am especially passionate about language and food:).
I'm very interested in history, on a small scale and large scale.
Traveling is so important to me, and I don't feel that I'm doing it right unless I CouchSurfing in those places. At the moment I've only been a guest on CouchSurfing, but once I get my own place I'd love to host people :)

I think the best and most important thing a human being can do in this world is to try to understand as much as they can. This is both why I love travel, and why I love couchsurfing.

As a guest, I want to soak up and learn as much as I can about you, your language, your culture, and your story.

As a host, I want to make you feel as comfortable as possible so that you can experience a world that is different from your own.

As a hangout-guy, I want to make the most of connections in whatever time we have, and also of course to have a lot of fun :)!

Interessen

I love taking pictures of the natural world, especially stars. There's little to me more exciting than walking into a flea market and seeing what old vintage lenses I can find :)
I've built and use my own metal foundry in my back yard and cast aluminum and copper into sculptures as a hobby.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I've gone through so many phases in terms of music in my life, and I've held onto songs and artists from each phase. They range from The Doors, to Wagner, System of a Down, Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell and many many more.

I'm not a very prolific reader, but I'm trying to get back into it. Some that I've liked are Cloud Atlas and Ritual, I'm planning on reading Ecotopia soon.

God, the list of movies I love is endless. At the moment I'm really into horror, I love Jordan Peele as well as a bunch of folk horror like The Wicker Man. Hereditary is probably one of the greatest movies I've ever seen.

A bit of a cliché here, but traveling is the most rewarding and amazing experiences I've had and have the privilege to continue to do.
