About Me

Hi there!

I´m a spanish Political Science and Law student. Originally from the awesome/wild/beautiful southern region of Extremadura but living in Madrid since I was a kid (which is pretty cool as well). I could make a list of things that I love, but I think I can summarize everything saying that I love learning and I consider travelling and meeting new people the best way to do so.

I had the luck of travelling a lot with my parents when I was a kid (mostly Europe and some north Africa), I grew up listening to their stories of the years they expended voluteering in Guinea and Peru. My first big trip without them was an Interrail around central-east europe, and then it came Cambodia, Laos, a cycling trip by the French coast, a summer in Lisbon, a trip going down the Balkans with Vé (the most incredible girl in the whole world), Iran... I´m looking forward to continue expanding my limits and learning more and more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really like the idea of staying with locals. I love the fact that there is people out there that, even in our days, are willing to open the doors of their houses to strangers and offer their hospitality. I think is a great way to make the most of a trip.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I grew up listening to 60´s-90´s rock and some classical music. As a teenager I focused on hard rock, hip-hop and punk (yes, I was half of my time skating). In the last 4-5 years I have been expanding to jazz, world music (specially africa and latin america) and some electronic music. Pink Floyd, Jimmy Hendrix, The Doors, The Clash, Extremoduro, Miles Davis, Cannonbal Adderley, Art Blakey, Sun Ra, Medeski Martin, Takuya Kuroda and Wood, Fela Kuti, Cheikh Lo, Buenavista Social Club... I really love music and I´m always open to discover new stuff.

Movies: I was one of those kids that grew up with Disney classic movies (I love the Jungle Book). As a teenager I saw lots of classic hollywood movies and, again, in the last years I have tried to broaden my horizons regarding cinema. Despite of this, I got caught by TV Series (don´t blame me, I´m from the Sopranos/Breaking Bad generation). I would say that my favorite directors are Francis F. Coppola, Richard Linklater and Spike Jonze.

Books: I´m the kind of person that have 30 started books in the nightstand and at the end of the year barely end 6 or 7 of them. Don´t get me wrong, I love reading, but I have this bad habit of leaving books in the half if they don't really trap me. Between my favorite authors I'd put Orwell, John K. Toole, Bukowsky and Bolaño.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Without any doubt, Laos was the most incredible place in which I've ever been. Therefore, going there was one of the most amazing things I've ever done. My experience as an Erasmus student in Prague was great as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a curious person always eager to learn something new. I love just talking to people and exchanging stories, experiences... I'm relaxed and calm. I really like food and cooking, so is always nice for me to learn new recipes and cook for others.
