Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We host frequently and are guests occasionally.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had awesome couch surfing experiences as a surfer in Berkeley California, Southern France, and Geneva Switzerland with my son Nico. I have been a solo guest a few times. We have been fortunate to be able to host many couchsurfers over the past few years. We were couch surfers without the internet!!! When I was in my early 20s my brother and I went to Europe. We stayed in London, Paris, and Belgium with friends' of friends'. It was a great experience. In Paris we called up a friend of a friend my brother had met at a party in Albuquerque New Mexico. She had said, "If you are ever in Paris....." The parts of that trip when we stayed with these people were the best! We also camped and stayed in hotels, but when hosted by the people we didn't know the trip became a much richer experience. Almost 30 years later, last month, I stayed a night in New York with our host from Belgium. It was like seeing a life long friend!
Interests
I love nature. I like to walk, garden, and be outside. I enjoy yoga! I enjoy good food of all kinds! I enjoy spending time around people who have a good sense of humor. I love architecture and old buildings. I enjoy restoring and working on old buildings. Folk music festivals are good fun. Bebe loves to walk and hike. We both like to travel and enjoy hosting travelers.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy a good conversation. I have life experience to share as a teacher, parent, son, husband. I feel pretty good about how my life has gone. Some people seem interested in that. I do like to cook and I love to share a good meal (I love to try new interesting restaurants)
