About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Venturing into new experiences in search of my true self

ABOUT ME

Well, if you asked my best friends about me, they would probably tell you that generally I'm this starry-eyed girl who would rather evade in her dream world than engage in small talk, pretty crazy in her own way. But, if you do manage to get past the initial reserve, you will discover a sincere, funny and charismatic girl, who relies mostly on emotions and feelings rather than rationality. A genuine Cancerian, I am a very intuitive, sensitive and caring person, cherishing of her few true friends and family.

PHILOSOPHY

"As a woman, I have no country. As a woman, I want no country. As a woman, my country is the world." V. Woolf

Don't compromise yourself. You are all you've got.--Janis Joplin

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” A. Einstein

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

With lots of positivity and good vibes!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first thing I heard about Couchsurfing was the fact that it allows great people to meet other great people and to experience great things together, and that's exactly what I'm in for. So far, my CS experience has been great, I had the pleasure to meet a few nice people through it and to make cultural exchange in this way.

Interests

I have always been very interested in understanding the way various people react in certain circumstances, what triggers their behavior and feelings. Thus I can say I'm interested in psychology, and I enjoy psychological books or movies, and I'm fascinated by experiences that confront people with their inner fears and desires. More than this, I'm fascinated by people with special gifts, from artistic gifts to special, different talents or abilities. I've always felt drawn towards free-spirited, unconventional people, who dare to live by their own principles and rules and to speak their mind freely, and have no preconceived ideas. Naturally, I search the companionship of interesting people, such as the ones described above. I try to spend my time in fruitful ways, thinking about my future, reflecting over my past experiences and trying to get the best of my present. Recently I have been devoting my time increasingly to music because it is one of the things I love most as it can bring me up every time I fall. I am currently now singing with a few musicians in Copenhagen.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a pretty wide range of music, from rock music to indie, pop, r&b, rap, reggae, to soul, blues and jazz. The newest discoveries which have caught my attention greatly are indie bands such as The Kooks, Florence and the Machine, or psychedelic rock bands like MGMT, Portugal. The man. My all time favourites are Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys,Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Muse, The White Stripes, The Prodigy,The Strokes,Kings of Leon,Paolo Nutini,Red Hot Chilli Peppers. In terms of movies, I enjoy both dramas and comedies, but also thrillers, psychological movies. Some of my favourite movies are: Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, Trainspotting, Frida, Factory girl, Seven, The silence of the lambs, Almost famous, Annie Hall, Perfume:the story of a murderer, That's what I am, Dead Poets Society,500 days of summer, Juno, Hard Candy. My favourite books include The catcher in the rye by J.D.Salinger, Franz Kafka's The Trial, F. Scott's Fitzgerald's The great Gatsby, Mario Vargas Llosa's La ciudad y los perros, Las travesuras de la nina mala, Dostoievski's Crime and Punishment, Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, Gemenii by Mircea Cartarescu.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, unfortunately I have never seen the Aurora Borealis ( Northern Lights) or anything as awesome as that but hopefully some day will be able to say that I have. For now, the most amazing thing for me is to go to concerts and hear the audience singing along with the artists, it's like you feel part of a greater, bigger thing and you are only united by a song. It happened to me at Roskilde Festival 2011, while singing along with The Kings of Leon on 'Use somebody".

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I would be able to teach you a bit of the Romanian language, some Romanian cuisine and I would be able to recommend some very good music and movies.
