My name's Dani and I'm from South Wales, UK. I found out about couch surfing whilst Googling "will I be lonely when travelling alone".

Me and my (nearly) two year old, Rowan, will be travelling through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in September and I'm a bit nervous as well as being very excited. He's very easy to entertain and happy as long as he's with me, but more worried about being lonely so would be great to meet and stay with people along the way.

I absolutely love chatting to people and getting to know them and I'd probably say it's one of my favourite hobbies. I also like being outdoors a lot. We have horses and so both ride, we both love kayaking and spending time in the water, I learnt to swim three months ago so that I could complete a triathlon. I love walking and hiking and Rowan comes with me in a wrap on my back, along with our two dogs, we both love all animals.

I also like reading all sorts of books, such as fantasy and travelling books and like crafts such as knitting and sewing. I'm learning how to play the drums and can sort of play the penny whistle. And obviously love travelling to new places and exploring too.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I'm hoping to meet people along our travels that we can chat too and get to know them. I am not a fan of my own company (not 24 hours a day anyway) and like to connect with people on a conversational level, not just a smile and a hello.

Now I know about couchsurfing, I'm hoping to host before we go and when we're back too to help other people travelling and carry on meeting new people from all over the world.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I recently completed a triathlon with an open water 750m swim round Mallards Pike lake. I couldn't swim more than half a length of a swimming pool with less than 3 months until the big day. I swam 3-4 times a week and a friend helped me and gave me lessons. I was the slowest swimmer there but I completed it and finished the whole thing in 1hr 52.
