About Me

Hello, I’m Daniella. I’m 23 and I’m traveling around Europe on my gap year. I graduated from university last year with a degree in English Literature. I love to experience new cultures through the food (and drinks!). While traveling I really want to meet new people and experiences things outside of my own culture. When I travel I don’t need to see all the sights, for me I’d rather have a nice meal and a conversation. Of course I’m not opposed to seeing all that the city has to offer. For me it’s the people that really make a trip special. Luckily for me I have family in the Netherlands and in France. Because of this, I’m fortunate enough to see a bit of local life in those areas. I would love to have this experience everywhere else I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet locals and really experience their city the local way. I have family around Europe and with them I am able to experience things a normal tourist wouldn’t. Even just watching my cousin play field hockey was a great experience! Even the seemingly unimportant events of daily life are interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read, all types! Recently I read Neuromancer and 1Q84. As for music, I’ve been listening a lot to Sufjan Stevens. I’m always looking for new suggestions though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning about the culture, especially relating to food. I learned how to pair wine with different food. I learned to ride like the Dutch. I even worked on my Spanish. I wonder what else I will learn?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can recommend some good books and maybe even discuss literature if you want. Other than that just my friendship and a guide in LA if you ever venture over to the US.
