I always find it difficult to condense myself into a few short lines. By profession, I am a Myofascial release therapist and own my own private clinic. But I'm also an artist, writer, and singer, with a degree in opera performance. I am a non-profit martial arts instructor, and have really gotten into trail running and endurance races in the past three years. I like to be outdoors, and while I love having a home base to come back to, I'm very much a nomad in many ways.
I've been married to my husband, Keith Cason, nearly 10 years now, and I see my sense of adventure rubbing off on him more and more. We are very balancing, and you'll be very lucky if I happen to be traveling with him, as he's a joy to be around, though I do take a lot of solo trips.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, and after discovering airbnb, learned how awesome it is to be able to stay with welcoming locals that have a passion for their location. The idea that such a place as this existed where people would even open their homes free of charge made me so happy!

Interests

All things artistic, philosophy and sociology/social anthropology, all things physical with exception of ball-related sports (I'll go to a live game and love it, but I stink at playing them), all things involving anatomy studies (yay, science!!), nerdy things (Dr. Who, Star treck, Harry Potter, lots of comic characters). I'm kinda into doing and learning everything, and I love that I've barely scratched the surface yet for how much I can discover.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost all music excepting most country and rap. Including a lot of things that you would likely have to be a classically trained musician to even know about. Movies, it's hard to isolate since genres are so broad. I love things like the first boondock saints, I like the more historical and touching things like Life is Beautiful. I like artistic movies like del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth and mirrormask, but I still love the major blockbusters like the marvel movies. The only type I'm usually not as into would be romantic comedy.

Books, I prefer either books that offer insight into psychology and social interaction, or fiction. In fiction, I lean a bit toward fantasy, with my current favorite being Neil Gaiman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? Singing in Carnegie hall? Nah...teaching women's self-defense...those ladies make me feel awesome! But amazing things happen every day in my job, in my teaching, etc. So it's hard to narrow it down.
