About Me

If I could choose one place to live in, it would probably be Twin Peaks or a Wes Anderson movie. Seriously, I'm a movie maniac and a bookworm, who is still looking for her place on earth. I feel best at film festivals - I attend most of them and become a volunteer from time to time.
Besides, I love cats, the smell of rain, and long conversations during summer nights with Billie Holiday on the soundtrack.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, that's a hard choice!
My MA was about the portrayal of New York in the films of Woody Allen, Spike Lee, and Martin Scorsese - that's when I fell for Spike Lee's movies, whereas I've always been enchanted by Woody Allen's films. His earlier stuff like Annie Hall, Manhattan, Radio Days. This list is quite long, I don't want to bore you :)
Among the films that have stuck with me through the years are: "The Virgin Suicides," "Buffalo 66," "Angel Heart," "Paris, Texas," "The Million Dollar Hotel", "Lisbon Story, " and "Cabaret."

When it comes to music, if you like (or love) Tom Waits, Pj Harvey, Nick Cave, Fiona Apple or Kathleen Hanna , we'll find a common language! I also like to listen to 60s girls bands, jazz music (Charles Mingus, Chet Baker, Charlie Parker, Miles Davies, Krzysztof Komeda), and trip hop (Portishead, Massive Attack, early Goldfrapp).

Books: anything by Milan Kundera and Bohumil Hrabal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

You have to know that I would be happy to bake my hosts banana bread or a brownie - these are my specialties! (Yes, I'm really into american culture.)
