As much as I've always been quite an introverted, reflective and cautious person, since childhood I've also felt a burning need for discovery, wilderness and reckless adventure.
I love new places, I love stories, I love discovering people to resonate with - from all around the globe.
I truly believe hospitality is and remains one of the core values of humankind and it should be pursued with every means possible, Couchsurfing being the most efficient of all at present!

I devoted my life to music and playing: that means practicing a lot and listening to tons of music.
But I am not just stuck with that: one of my greatest problems is that I always wanted to do too many things in life!
I love all kinds of art and I am (was?) quite good at drawing; I am obsessed with cinema, theatre, science and history; I am fascinated by communication and linguistics and, if I had the time, I would definitely start learning a bunch of languages - and resume Ancient Greek and Latin. I am also passionate about sociopolitical matters but feel that my knowledge is always quite lacking - insightful conversation is very much welcome!
I love teaching flute and teaching in general, and I have strong ideas about teaching methods and education.

I am some kind of a geek, I guess...!

I love exploring cities and discovering the people, of course, but one of the things I enjoy most in life is being in the nature and having the chance to get as far away as I can from civilization. It's nice to restore some kind of deep connection, at times. I believe I am my best self when I'm hiking up a mountain, singing songs with my travelling companions, looking for the best spot where to pitch our tent!

Since I'm constantly reading out-of-this-world anecdotes on travelers' profiles, I get quite self-conscious about this part...! I really don't know about "incredible", because sometimes very subtle details turn out to be life-changing for me.

However I have:
- slept under the most magnificent starry sky on the slopes of a volcano, in Nisyros
- survived the most violent thunderstorm while hiking the Greater Caucasus by night, taking shelter in an abandoned church
- experienced the most touching and pure version of what in ancient times would have been called ξενία, realizing that's the only possible way ever to treat each other
- sung some beloved vocal repertoire from the Renaissance, with my most beloved people, in the other-worldly Monastery of Geghard in Armenia
- attended a performance of Aeschylus' Prometheus Bound in the ancient theater in Pompeii
- performed with fire in a huge street-art festival in southern Italy - I was young and naive...
- played at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam - and that's dope you guys!
- experienced that sort of Zen-like state that playing music can sometimes bring you into
