Hi my name is Tobias.

I am from Germany, where I studied forestry and I am going to do my master’s degree in forest science after my trip through Canada.

I am 25 years old and I love being outside. I have been a scout for 18 years now and it is my huge passion. Consequently I spent a lot of my time trekking and hiking in the forests in my country alone or with friends. Learning more and more survival skills to get independent of a bunch of equipment is another thing I really enjoy. Furthermore it helps me to show my scout’s group that money isn’t necessary for a wonderful adventure.

I am open minded, friendly, permanent happy and love to see other ways of life. Beside this I really enjoy conversations about all different topics and I am excited to use my English skills, which I acquired in a language school in Toronto.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The last 3 month I was studying English in a language school in Toronto and now I have 3 month left to visit Canada. My plan is to get to the West of Canada and to do winter camping in the Rocky Mountains, as well as visiting the wonderful forests and other places in the countryside. To see the gigantic trees on Vancouver Island was always a dream of mine.

On my way to the West and during my stay there I would like to get to know the real Canada, by talking to local people and profit from their experience.

My favourit movie is "into the wild" and I enjoy reading the novels of Alexander Dumas and every kind of adventure story
