Why I’m on Couchsurfing

40 years ago I hitchhiked through europe, and the first ride we got was a guy who took us back to his place, feed us,entertained us and showed us his local area. We wondered how we would ever repay him. He said we don't need to pay him back we should pay forward. Ever since I have been finding way to pay him forward.
I have hosted an exchange student for 12 months, a Japanese teacher for 6 months, numerous Japanese students for shorter terms Indonesian students, travellers from Holland, France and other place around the world.
Now I have found couch surfing I have found an even better way to pay forward. Thank you Holger in Damstart Germany for that simple philosophy.
