About Me

ABOUT ME

I was born in Michigan, lived in San Francisco for 10 years, then Denver for 2, before embarking on a epic adventure of 2 years in SE Asia, then Europe, and South America.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to meet interesting, like-minded, & fun local people, try local things, learn about different cultures. I really enjoyed hosting people in Denver, and am really excited to travel the world and meet people from all over!

Interests

Backpacking, climbing, cycling, skiing & snowboarding, guitar, karaoke, gardening, cooking, yoga, photography

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Alt J, Beach House, the National, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, and many alternative Spanish-language musicians

Movies: Wes Anderson, Terrence Malick, Lars von Trier, Michelangelo Antonioni, Jean-Luc Godard

Books: Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, anything by Haruki Murakami

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't limit this to just one thing :)

I've been to Machu Picchu (twice!) & stole a toy llama by stealthily hiding it in my pants (once!).

Yona and I l road tripped across America via motorcycle, and rode a scooter in Kathmandu.

I've also done the flying trapeze at a circus school (gulp!)

I've also done 2 Vipassana meditation retreats.. one for 10 days in Colorado, another for 14 in Thailand. Are you thinking of doing one?

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm finished my TEFL certification now, so helping people to learn English would be good practice :)

If you have a guitar laying around that you've always wanted to learn how to play, I can show you how!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make the BEST guacamole. I also know many tasty back country recipes..
I'm an avid outdoor person, having done extensive back country backpacking in California and Colorado, as well as a weeklong canoeing trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal, and the W in Patagonia, so if you're thinking of going any of those places, I can tell you about some great ideas!
I also have done quite a bit of handiwork around my house before selling it. Want to not electrocute yourself? I can show you how! ;)
Also, see above re: musical instruments :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Peru, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
