About Me

Traveling has always been a passion for me linked to another favorite activity: speaking English (mainly) but also German. I used to live in Scotland where I polished my english.
I like hiking, discovering places, meeting people, playing the piano, playing the mouth-organ, listening to music. I'm open to all the sound experiences of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would be happy to welcome world travelers to share experiences and ideas and to help them discover interesting locations in my region or far away (I used to live in Scotland, England and Ireland) and I would be most happy to be welcomed the same way when I'm abroad. I have a good sense of hospitality.

Music, Movies, and Books

Modern celtic folk music, oldies, any music apart from Heavy Metal and hard stuff.
I like many types of movies from Alien to Number 42 to Star Wars to action movies, thrillers, to movies with a true story. I don't like Horror Movies any more.
Books by Dan Brown, Ken Follet, Linwood Barkley (Good detective novels), Lee Child (Jack Reacher)... but also classics like To kill a Mocking Bird. My favorite is Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian. I also like Morpurgo...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crossing Scotland on foot from the West Coast to Drumnadrochit on the shores of Loch Ness, with a road map and a good sens of orienteering. Sleeping the first night with Belgian scouts near Kyle of Lochalsh opposite the Isle of Skye and the second night in a henshed, then finding the loneliest youth hostel in the middle of nowhere envelopped with drizzle and mist at 10 in the evening (in Glen Affric). That was wild but beautiful and very scenic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have many ideas about teaching, being a teacher, but we learn mostly from others listening to them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anything depending on each person's quest. I can cook a wee bit local foods and specials, I know my area quite well. I want to make people feel at home. I can play some card games or share music activities... Well! The spectrum is wide.

Countries I’ve Visited
