About Me

I am now semi-retired, with three grown-up sons and one lovely grand-daughter. My wife of thirty years recently passed away after a five year term with agressive breast cancer. I now have an empty house and an incredible, if not scary, capacity to travel with 20 plus years of airline industry standby travel to use. I desire to see so much more of the world, as well as seeing more of my once regular destinations than a quick fuelstop, walk around and reloading more passengers, ocassionally with a minimum rest or 24 hour break on an overnight (eg 250 plus in Cairns, NQ)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Recommended by friends as a great way to meet and share experiences with people from all over the world.

Interests

Red wine and port, as well as the discussions that go along with it.
Music - just bought a guitar, need now to learn how to play it.
MUSIC - Loads of C90 cassettes I recorded in the 70s and 80s that I cannot bear to throw away. Stacks of CDs and about 1200 LPs, classifying me as a vinyl freak with three turntables. I use youtube nearly everyday.
Amateur radio for 35+ years. VK4DWH (look me up on qrz.com)
Freemasonry -18th and 30th degree, Royal Arch and Grand Pursuivant at UGLQ
Reiki, NLP, energy work, complementary therapies, nutrition, meditation especially with my eyes open doing everyday tasks.
Aviation and flying (there is a difference), gardening, reading, meeting people and seeing what makes them tick, and sometimes tock.
In the past body surfing, swimming, snow ski-ing, gliding, ice skating, roller skating, tennis, squash, volleyball, motorcycles ( R3-350 1969 Yamaha as a first bike in the 70s, XL250 Honda, 1973 TX650 Yamaha, Honda GL1000 Gold Wing). Itching to get back on two wheels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Moody Blues, Allan Parsons Project, Neil Diamond, Glen Campbell, Roger Whitaker, Gordon Lighfoot, Kevin Johnson, Shadows, Beach Boys, Ross Ryan, Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, ELO, Boston, America, Chicago, Gene Pitney, to name but a very few, classical of most types but in moderation, brass bands (used to play a tuba and a euphonium in my teens), instrumentals, ..... 528 Hz tones and other Solfeggio frequencies.
'Power of now' may sum up my book collection.
Richard Bach's books - I have nearly everyone. 'There's no such place as far away' and 'Illusions' continue the journey after Jonathan Livingstone Seagull.
A copy of the King James Bible my mother gave me many moons ago, and at last am beginning to appreciate the gift.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Discovered there is life after birth.

Teach, Learn, Share

To quote from the Messiah's handbook in Illusions by Richard Bach.
'Learning is finding out what you already know.
Doing is demonstrating that you know it.
Teaching is reminding others they know just as well as you.
You are all learners, doers, teachers."

http://enlightenink.com/?page_id=557 says it all quite well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

All, some or none of the above as the case may be. That may depend on how much red wine is present.
