Overview
About Me
I grew up in the heart of Canada and had actually never been on a plane until I was 19 years old. I've always been a person who likes to settle down, but whenever great opportunities to travel have come up I've tried to take them and it has expanded my perspective on the world so much and led to some crazy adventures and fun experiences. I love the way that travel allows lives to intersect and unexpected beautiful moments to happen.
I am currently teaching English in an international school in the southern part of Malaysia. I am also getting my Master in English Language and Literature. My wife and I are both teachers and we are passionate about impacting/influening the next generation through education.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My wife and I love to travel. People who are kind, try new things, and explore all that life has to offer. That’s why we want to host travellers and also be hosted when we travel. It’s a great way to connect and share kindness.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite movie is "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" about the life of Francis of Assissi. Who left a life of wealth to give his life away and find out what life is really about. I also am a big fan of Hook, Robin Hood, Rob Roy, Master of Disguise, and the Gridiron gang.
I love to read a lot of the old English guys: GK Chesterton, JRR Tolkein, CS Lewis, and George Macdonald. I'm also a big fan of the classics and also some current YA literature.
When it comes to music I'm a big fan or rap music and also worship music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time I was in Uganda and thought I should try running a marathon just to see if I could do it. I ended up befriending a young man on a bike and visiting his brother in the hospital, getting proposed to, meeting personally a whole village in the middle of nowhere, being given two chickens, befriending a popular gospel singer, and receiving a motorbike ride from a star Ugandan soccer player. I didn't finish the marathon, but I ended up having one of the funnest, most unexpected and wildest days of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach how to play guitar, play instruments by ear, proper running form to run marathons, how to play trombone, ride a unicycle, and how to ultralight camp well.
