About Me

I'm a curious man learning everything I can, especially from people I met. I'm currently studying Cognitive Sciences at the University of Lyon. Before that, I graduated and finished a master degree in electronics and automation engineering (at INSA of Toulouse). I'm 26 years old. I've lived for 7 years in Toulouse and I come from Ariège, in the South of France, where I spent my childhood, close to the Pyrenees mountains.

I really like to have deep conversations with interesting people. You know, the kind of moment that you leave thinking : "I've grown thanks to this talk".
On an other side, I like to take time to explore animals in their natural environment, to catch the little and precious moments that life can bring to us, for example some unexpected discovering or meeting.

I will close this introduction with a sentence that I really like, and that has a lot to learn: "Everyone is better than me in at least one field". I'm ready to listen and share with you. See you soon

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I use Couchsurfing mainly because of the state of mind that people have on this network.

For now I'm in holidays until I start my 2nd year of Master in Paris (Learning sciences).

I prioritize the human relationship rather than images and souvenirs. Watching some beautiful monuments, taking photos that a lot of other people already took provide good memories for the future, for sure. But meeting people is more powerful and exciting because they have more to say than all the monuments I can visit. What interest me the most are the stories of the world, whatever the media could be (a book, a human, a monument or any object).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I don't really pay attention on the kind of music I listen, even if I know that I like old songs. I sometimes listen saxophone jazz in the morning, it's relaxing.

Books: philosophic or psychological books. I mainly read informative books, where I can learn from the experiences of the author.
I also like fictive novels to relax, and because they have the power to transmit ideas and magic and make us live various emotions at the same time.

The last books I've read:
Psychologie de la créativité (collectif)
Apprendre (Stanislas Deheane)
La vie secrète des animaux (Peter Wohlleben)
La panthère des neiges (Sylvain Tesson)
The evolution man (Roy Lewis)
I honestly recommend them, and I'm open to your advice to discover new ones.

Movies: The lion King, Cars :)
Inception, Memento
Sherlock Holmes
The translators
In general, I like movies where the scenario is original, where you can be surprised, and where you have to think because the scenario is complex. Sometimes I also watch comedies or fantasy films when I don't want to "think".

I also like to watch conferences like TED talks, or interesting people speaking. It's fascinating the way we can learn nowadays.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Extraordinary things are relative, so I'll tell you if I meet you.

I can still talk about my experience in Laos (humanitarian project) or my roadtrip in Italy (in car and alone). And most of all, all conversions I did in my life, and which taught me so much.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn everything I can from other people. I'm curious and try to learn things about every topic.
I consider both the experimental knowledge that people can transmit to me, and also more theoretical knowledge, which I can find in some books, from philosophers, scientists for example. I also value the "artisitic knowledge", this ability to transfer a message by an emotional way.

To precise the topics which particularly interst me, I would say the things related with the brain (neurosciences, cognitive sciences, psychology, Artificial Intelligence). I also really like the things about human interactions (sociology, anthropology, human sciences in general) and their way of communication (linguistics, rethoric, telecommunications and Internet). Finally, all the topics about nature and knowledge about living organisms (biology, botany, ethnology). I know that it's a lot of topics, but we're in an era where the knowledge is everywhere. If we know where to look, we can see that we're very lucky.

About teaching, I try to help others seeing or expressing what they haven't achieved to see or say until now. If I can be the receiver or the catalyser of the thoughts of others, I would consider that I've accomplished something great. I also believe that I participate to help people improving their communication skills and/or their self-confidence by allowing to train with me.
I can help for engineering, electronics and computing because it's my educational background. And also for psychology and cognitive sciences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can most of all listen attentively, which is I think a very important thing. Except that, I can share the knowledge I've learnt during my life.
The last thing I can share is a smile, the easiest thing to give to someone.
I also try to bring something for my hosts when I visit them, a small gift compared to what they offer to me :)
