Overview
About Me
33 years old, father of 2, Huuuge record/vinyl/music nerd, lover of art, movies, music and culture. Big on football & basketball. part time writer, nerd for all things science & history.
Gettin the bullet points out of the way, Before fatherhood I was a traveling professional musician. After I opened a record store with my best friend that ended up turning into a music venue. After my friends passing and before the birth of my beautiful daughter I sold the store/venue. Since I have devoted my life to managing, promoting, consulting and encouraging all mediums of art and especially music.
I love to travel and have been very blessed to travel as part of an occupation. I love meeting new people. I prefer to avoid tourist traps and tourist-y behavior. I liek to learn about people and culture and I prefer to avoid negativity, intolerance or people who hate where they live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
LOVE travelling and meeting new people. I like to avoid tourist traps or typical places/events. I will always be the person who wants to know where the locals go and how locals view their own city. I LOVE where I live and like meeting people who feel the same.

Music, Movies, and Books
ohhhh man, as far as reading I will say my personal favorite author in life was the "Dickens Of Detroit" Mr. Elmore Leonard. This man has affected eerything I ever wrote from music, non-fiction to fiction. Huge impact on me. As far as classics go I will say I think The Divine Comedy (Dante's Inferno), Shakespeare (especially Hamlet), James Joyce, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain And Henry David Thoreau are absolute genius. I don't always love what Chuck Palahniuk writes but I think his process and outlook are brilliant and he's a very intriguing person. Absolutely detest Ayn Rand immensely.
Love Tarrantino, Darren Aronofsky, Scorsese, David Fincher, John Waters, David Lynch, Oliver Stone, Ben Affleck (as a director), Matthew Vaughn and tons others in the world of cinema.
in the world of music there's no synapsis that would ever do it justice. Lot sof people say they "listen to everything" but realistically most don't. I like to think that I actually do. I'm a massive nerd for jazz, punk, techno, reggae, country, funk, rap, soul, movie scores, electronica, dance, nu wave, industrial, metal, americana, bluegrass. progressive, and whatever else I can asborb. As a person however, I will say that independent record labels/musicians will always be my heart.
also, huge HUGE fan of comedy, comedians, and writing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
aside fom running a music venue for young, original artists I would have to say starting a local music award show has been one of the most fulfilling experiances of my life. Seeing artists and many fo their parents finally see the recognition of their art may have saved my life. 7 years and running Blue Water Music Awards for life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Everywhere is different, yet exactly the same. People too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
respectful conversation/discourse. A deep respect for boundaries, possesions and expectations. An in depth wealth of musical knowledge, scientific curiosity, positive outlooks and general humorous banter. And not to be too self inflated but I feel like I'm very authentic to who I am. I think I'm very much the same person privately that I am publicly and I think it's an important quality in the people I surround myself with. I like to feel like I know the people I'm around. I guess, one of the few things I prefer predictability in.
