About Me

*** I can't host anyone right now because I'm currently traveling and I don't know when I'll be back in Italy. But feel free to write to me for recommendations about what to do and see in the Varese area!***

**************

Ciao a tutti!
My name is Davide and I have been travelling now since more than three years, backpacking around mostly around Asia and Latina America.

In the past I worked as a cyber security specialist in an IT company for around 12 years but during the pandemic I realised that life is too short to stay behind a screen, so I left my job to start exploring this beautiful little world of ours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Sharing is one of the most important things in life. Travelling for so long I realised that the best memories are the ones shared with good and lovely people.
And through couch surfing this is even more true because you can really learn from people living the place how it is to leave there, the culture, the food, and you can give it back about your home and culture.

Interests

I love cooking and eating as much as having meaningful conversations and walking/hiking in nature. Probably anything about nature and animal is of my interest.

My friends make fun of me because I love making jokes, especially dad jokes. For example, do you know why you can't trust shells? Because they are shellfish.... Yes, I know.... Sorry

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I suffer from vertigo, but trying to defeat this fear I've done parachuting, paragliding, bungee jumping and now starting with bouldering and climbing (in the gym).
(But the fear is still there 😝)

In Bali I've done diving and it was a big step for me, because when I was a child I risked drowning and I didn't really like to be in the water where I can't touch.

I have seen from very close a volcano erupting in the night in Guatemala, the Acatenango.

I have completed the second most beautiful hike in the world: Huayhuash in Perù

I snorkeled with a big shark in the Galapagos island 😁

I've climbed the Huayna Potosí in Bolivia. I couldn't reach the top but I've been higher than ever, at 5850 meters!

I've seen the sunset in Rapa Nui (Easter island)

I've visited Antártica! A privileged considering that only 0.0001% of the population currently alive has ever been there.

I've participated in a Ayahuasca ceremony

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always open to learning something new and I can share stories and knowledge about food, especially Italian food of course, and my travel experiences.

I would love to improve my chess game, how to play the ukulele or the flute and another language which I still have to choose! (Maybe french? Or Portuguese?)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very passionate about cooking, so we can cook together or I can prepare some nice dishes for you!
I can share with you my travel stories and my knowledge about IT, cooking, yoga and meditation.
