About Me
CURRENT MISSION
- Trust the guidance of my heart and be open to where it takes me.
ABOUT ME
I'm a 31 year old guy. Born in Hyderabad, India, but grew up in the Netherlands. Indian mother, Dutch father.
This dual ethnicity has come with it's challenges, but also has definately given me some advantages as well.
PHILOSOPHY
Bananas.
Other than that, I've always had a questioning mind, which has gotten me quite far in terms of widening my view. As of now, I think philosophy is not so much helpful if it is not grounded in the experience of how things actually are. How the mind functions with it's psychological mechanisms, how this has a clear interplay with the body and the interconnectedess between the "internal" and "external" world. Being able to be honest to myself and doing that from sensitivity, love and opennes from the heart is how I like to approach life these days.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have gone couchsurfing with one of my best friends, Elmar before. Also, when Elmar and me lived together we have hosted some people once every so often, which was a good experience every time.
Right now I left my life in The Netherlands to experience India for myself with a small backpack, a meditation block and a yogamat. Live more simple life with less unnecessary baggage and unnecessary luxury. I've been here many times to meet up with family. However, I feel very much drawn to discover India for myself for some time (a few years at least). The idea is to see where life takes me and join in with things that feel right.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have hosted and have been hosted and these where definately interesting experiences.
Interests
Music and moving my body (ice skating to skateboarding) in many different ways have always been huge sources of enjoyment of mine.
A week when I haven't eaten peanut butter, have shared a good hug, touched a tree, sang a Drake song out loud, cried (touched by God, beauty, love or otherwise) and danced means something is very wrong with me or I'm dead. Or I could be in a meditation retreat ;)
I have a Ba/undergraduate degree in Psycholgy and Ma/graduate degree in Sport Sciences.
For the last 10 years I've been quite challenged with many health issues that have led me to go on a deep healing journey and look deeper into myself with the help of many doctors, people around me, meditation, reading books, therapy and youtube content of spiritual teachers. I can say I've learnt a lot on the way and it's actually still happening.

Music, Movies, and Books
Even though I enjoy watching movies together, I'm not a great movie watcher.
A few of my favourites:
Superbad; Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels; Memento; Triangle of Sadness.
A few (older, I guess) Hindi movies I enjoyed mostly for the music:
Khaadalan, Roja (actually Telegu), Taal, Yaadein, Lagaan. Yes, I love A.R. Rahman.
Lately I've watched "PK" which I thought was touching.
Books: Though I like reading I do not have one favourite book. A book I can definately recommend is:
Adyashanti - The End of Your World
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I can be kind of silly monkey sometimes:
Cycling by moving the pedals with my hands and steering with my feet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to meditate.
I can teach you a few things about the human body-mind system.
I can share some scientific facts about the abovementioned.
I'd love to improve my Hindi.
I'd love to improve my chapathi-making skills.
I'd love to learn simple recipes.
I'd love to learn more about anything that I don't understand but which ignites your enthusiasm.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Silence, my honest interest, a good-hearted laugh, my singing and rapping along to songs, some dance-moves and
my ability to copy accents and voices ;)
