Summer of 2024 is quite a busy time with a lot of work trips before my vacation, and in July-August I will be traveling mainly in Italy.
After the kids are back in school we are home again and will be available to host more. Åland Islands is a nice place in fall as well :)

I love traveling, and have always wanted to see the world. I've never been on any family vacations to warm, nice and beautiful places. I'm more of an independent traveler, interested in other cultures and ways of life, not in a nice pool and 5-star all-inclusive hotels. They're probably nice too, but if you only travel like that you don't really get a feel of what it's like in another country.

I now have two young children, and can't afford to travel as much as I did before. But I'd love to meet up with travelers and get to travel vicariously through you, and whenever we can, all 3 of us travel places :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed quite a few couches in the USA and Canada and some other parts of the world, and have also met up with some hosts for a drink. I'm offering my couch to all the interesting people out there, and I hope more people soon find their way to Finland :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met a lot of interesting people through CS; my surfing experience has been nothing but excellent :)
Couchsurfing in the Middle East I believe have made both me and my children more understanding people. The generosity and welcoming was just completely amazing.

So far I've only hosted a few times, but I can't wait to do it again.

I like most music, but I mostly listen to indie/ rock, some classical music too. I try to learn to play violin and cello but it only sounds like I’m torturing a cat.

I watch TV and Netflix too much. I like Korean movies and series, and lots of other genres.

I've camped alone 160 miles above the Arctic circle, without a gun or bear spray, with a backpack that smelled of blueberries. Stupid, yes, but oh-so exciting.
Skydiving in Hawaii was fun.

I'm quite useless, but I guess I can teach you some Finnish and/or Swedish. I can share travel stories and experiences.

I'd like to learn to play the guitar/ukulele/piano/ and violin better, and more about photography. I'd also like to learn more about vegan cooking and baking, and yoga. Not vegan or vegetarian though.
