About Me
Hi there! I am a 25 year old, soon to be 26, student that wants to see a little bit of the world before I get too far along in life. My degree I am going for is a Bachelor in Family Consumer Science. Back in the day this would have met sewing, textiles, home-care, etc. The field is far from rigid and is constantly "keeping up with the Jones" to meet the needs of families. I'm planning on concentrating on the dietetics side of FCS (Family Consumer Science). It would be nice to get into a clinical setting, but it is quite competitive, so the plan is to keep the head down and the grades up. If I stay on track, I will be graduating in the spring of 18.
I'm a sociable person, which I feel most people who are open to the idea of Couchsurfing are. I've always been comfortable in group settings and meeting new people; definitely get that trait from my father. He owns his own grocery store and since I was little I was always running around the store meeting people with a wide range of personalities. I would consider myself a wanderer, another trait I feel most people on Couchcsurfing share.
I hope to one day even start my own organic grocery store, but need to get school out of the way and then see what the demand for an organic grocery store is in southern Minnesota. That would be a long term goal of mine, while the short term would be to see different parts of the world! I have seen a good amount of the States already, and even though I'm not done seeing things here yet, I want to make sure I don't have too many things keeping me from traveling in such a unique fashion.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I can't lie, money is the main reason. It's not that I'm not able to afford hotels, but Couchsurfing seems more economic. I have a mortgage to pay for and going to school full time doesn't leave me with the option to work full time, so whatever helps me save money is beneficial. Also, if I'm able to find hosts willing to show me around it makes the trip all the more worth while.
Obviously traveling is something I'm on Couchsurfing. I have been to Mexico and Dominican Republic, but I feel it's time to get to the other side of the world. We are all so connected via the web, I feel it's necessary to be able to witness for myself.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I feel my taste is music is pretty vast. I've never had one favorite genre and usually have music on shuffle. Most of the time, it depends on my mood on what I'm going to listen to.
Some of my favorites bands/artists: A Day to Remember (Kevin Skaff is from Owatonna!), Parkway Drive, The Beatles, Jon Pardi, Brad Paisley, Four Year Strong, Eminem, Kevin Gates, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Prince and Bob Dylan (both Minnesota icons), Kaleo, etc.
Movies: Favorite movie is Gladiator. I am a huge Russel Crowe fan. Can never go wrong with anything Disney, in my opinion. Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter!!, Crash, Life of Pi, Avatar, What IF, Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Books: I admittedly haven't been reading much books as of late, but when I do read, I enjoy to read books that are part of series. As I slightly showed above, I'm an avid Harry Potter fan.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing that I take pride in is the fact I have came back to school so many times. I have taken around 3 breaks from my collegiate career and I have continued to come back. During those breaks, I had an array of jobs, form group homes, to truck driving; I actually have my CDL (commercial drivers license) The problem when I first got to school was I never knew what I wanted to do, so I never had a a destination. I was "going through the motions". Now I have a clear cut goal and plan on reaching it.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I feel I can share a good amount of things with my hosts. The biggest thing I can share is conversations. I'm good at asking questions. I also feel I have unique views on the United States and the world as a whole. Obviously, there are stereotypes about other cultures and I want to either confirm or bust it for my hosts. Confirming or busting it, I want to show I'm a respectful and honest contributor to the world.
