Why I'm on Couchsurfing
People are the best part about travelling and this is a good way to meet cool people. I think I have a lot to learn about actually engaging with a city rather than passing through it.

Books Cannery Row, John Steinbeck (random favorite of all time) Epic Fantasy (Malazan, Game of Thrones, Gentlemen Bastards, Shannara, Anything by Brandon Sanderson or Joe Abercrombie. Lots of nonfiction (positive psychology, buddhism, memoir, science and history) Music LCD Soundsystem/Atmosphere/Why?/Bright Eyes/ Drake/ Elliott Smith/ Broken Social Scene / Kanye/ Archers of Loaf/ Isaiah Rashad/ Cap'n Jazz/Guided by Voices are probably my favorites. Other than that.... Hip hop! Almost everything hip hop, from underground to mainstream. Doesn't matter. I am well-versed (see what I did there?) In everything. One Amazing Thing I've Done
Coolest thing i've ever done is Appalachian Service Project. Construction project in West Virginia almost every summer I can manage. Building stuff is really satisfying, especially for a good cause.
