ABOUT ME

Let's just get "open-minded, easy-going and outgoing" out of the way since they're basically on every profile ;) I would say I'm a social butterfly and I'm interested in obscure things (hobbies, artists etc). I enjoy meeting all types of people and I love learning. I have always been socially versatile, and I constantly want to do fun things that I'll be able to tell as stories later!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

When I travel I like to make my trips different from the classic sightseeing trips that most people take. I want to have a unique experience and absorb the culture of the place I'm visiting. The best way to achieve this is to stay with locals!

I am also interested in hosting, and showing people some of the cool things that Regina has to offer. I know Saskatchewan is usually near the bottom of the list for travel destinations in Canada, but I like to try and change people's view of Regina if they find themselves here for a spell.

Intereses

Music,I play in a psychedelic noise punk band called the marching martian marshmellotrons and I have started playing solo shows! However, my favourite thing is goofy improvised jams in the living room. I enjoy various types of music from folk and bluegrass to skate punk and prog rock. I like to read, non-fiction as well as fiction. I enjoy pretty much all types of games (card games, board games, improv theatre games, drinking games etc). I love film and TV. I like writing poetry and songs. I competed in, and hosted poetry slams/ open stage events monthly in Canada.

I kind of answered this stuff above. Oh man, just ask me in person. Kurt Vonnegut is probably my favourite author. I'm a huge science fiction fan (Clarke, Dick, Heinlein, Atwood etc). Allen Ginsberg is probably my favourite poet, and of Montreal, Primus and Tom Waits are probably my favourite artists. I love movies by Wes Anderson, the Cohen brothers, Edgar Wright and Todd Haynes. I love checking out independent films at the cinema.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Made it onto Regina's slam poetry team, and competed in Canada's national slam poetry competition, the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word twice.
I hitchhiked from Regina to Vancouver (1700 km!) for a national poetry competition, and couchsurfed the whole time.
Flew to Nimes with a ticket to This is not a Love Song Festival and no plan, then found some local musician playing a show, stayed until the end and helped him load his gear afterwards. I ended up crashing at his place!

I love learning, and I love teaching. I'm a little bit obsessed with constantly improving myself, so that includes learning new skills and obtaining more knowledge all the time
