Hey!
I'm Dhanjyoti, currently pursuing my graduation in Geography from B Borooah College, Guwahati. I’m a passionate traveler who loves exploring new places and diving into the unique cultures they offer. For me travel isn't just about visiting new spots it’s about connecting with the local culture and experiencing its rituals, traditions, and way of life. Whether it's learning a new dance, trying local cuisine, or participating in a community celebration, I'm always up for something new.
I believe every place has its own story, and love discovering it through the people I meet along the way. I love hearing people's travel stories, and believe the best way to really understand a place is through its people. So if you're someone who loves cultural adventures and good conversations, we’ll definitely get along.
Currently I'm more focused on hosting people rather than surfing.
No problem with religion, nationality, gender etc. Good people are always welcome to my home.
I will guide you, show you the beautiful places near me, and also if possible taste the traditional/local cousine of Assam.
Peace and welcome to all the good people .
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people, make new friendships, and exchange culture.
I’ve always loved traveling and meeting people from all over the world. As I’m not yet financially independent to travel the globe myself I thought why not change my home into a world and host people from around the world to my home? So, I’ve decided to open my doors to travelers.
If you’re looking to experience something new and share your travel stories, my home is always open to you. Let’s connect, exchange stories, and create memories together.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a big music fan and enjoy a wide range of genres. I love classic artists like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, and John Denver, as well as bands like Guns N’ Roses and Creedence Clearwater Revival. I also listen to more modern artists such as Ed Sheeran, Chance Peña, Bon Iver, and The Lumineers, and I’m a big fan of country music like Chris Stapleton, Wyatt Flores, and Zach Bryan are some of my favorites.
Bob Marley’s reggae music is something I always enjoy, and while Bollywood music isn’t really my style, I do like Kailash Kher’s music and the classics of Kishore Kumar. Mostly, I stick to Western and local language music, but I’m always open to hearing new sounds.
When it comes to movies and series, I’m a huge fan of historical dramas and fantasy, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Game of Thrones, The Last Kingdom, and Vikings are some of my top picks. I also enjoy intense shows like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and All of Us Are Dead. As for films, Everest really left an impression on me. I’ve watched a lot of Nat Geo documentaries, and David Attenborough’s nature shows are always a favorite.
Talking about books i am not a big fan of reading books but Alchemist is the best book i have read till now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have done trekking in Dzukou Valley Nagaland and slept in a cabin with rats moving around heads and over the body at night in complete darkness. Secondly i hiked all the way up to Reiek peak in Mizoram just to realise that you can reach there even with a two wheeler.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’d love to teach you a few basic phrases in Assamese trust me, it’s a great way to connect with the locals. While I may not always have a spare room, I’d be happy to offer a comfy bed, great conversation, and local tips to help you make the most of your stay in Guwahati. If you're planning to explore Assam or Northeast India, I can share insider travel advice, recommend hidden gems, and guide you to the best spots in the region. In return, I’d love to learn something cool that you're good at, whether it’s a cooking recipe, a language tip, or even a travel hack you swear by.
Most importantly I’m all ears for your travel stories and experiences. There’s nothing I love more than hearing about the places you’ve been, the adventures you’ve had, and the crazy situations you’ve found yourself in. Whether it's a funny travel mishap, a hidden gem you discovered, or that one unforgettable moment you had with locals, I’m all in for hearing the stories.
