About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have fun adventures forever.

ABOUT ME

Good question. I'm going to guess "Fun, kind of arrogant, can be abrasive until you get used to her, honest". It's pretty difficult to describe yourself with sounding like a total douche. I'm awesome. Extrapolate.

PHILOSOPHY

Wow, that's a hard question. I guess there are a bunch of rules/guidelines I tend to live by which I've learned from experience. A small selection of these include "Always ride the upswing", "its usually more fun to do the unexpected" and "everything tastes better with cheese"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Whenever I have my own place I'd like to host, at the moment I am a tenant so it's not really possible

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a lot of friends of friends and pseudo random people, but never through the site. I suppose this is kind of a placeholder for a time when I do decide to either surf myself or provide a bed.

Interests

Steel fabrication for sculptures, a variety of reasonably geeky things as might be expected from someone in my profession. Probably more stuff, but this section always annoys me. It's like every time I write this I am performing for the internet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best thing I have ever done was work on a Burning Man art project in San Francisco for a few months. I worked with a group called the Flaming Lotus girls, a female driven group that work on large scale fire sculptures made of a variety of materials, mainly steel. I've probably also done some other cool things, but none of them were anywhere near that awesome.

The coolest thing I've seen... That's pretty hard to pick. Sunset over Mount Fuji, a Thai waterfall from a pool near the top and a lightning storm from a plane in the middle of the night are a few of my favourite memories over the last few years. But most of my favourite times are just moments that for one reason or another were perfect.

Teach, Learn, Share

Maybe its silly to say on a site like this, but I'm pretty damn good at travelling. I don't mean just backpacking, I mean moving to a country, making a life, and living that life for a while before moving on. I keep on doing it, and its actually pretty hard, so I think a lot about it too. maybe I have things I could teach people about that. I certainly have things I could learn.
