In my experience, one of most interesting things when you travel is make a deep conection with the culture of the place (city, country) where you're travelling. It's about know about customs and tradition of the local people (talking about all the aspects in the common life: food, fun, religion, politics, etc). One of the modes to do it, in my opinion, is the interaction with the locals. In all my travels, that experience and interaction with another persons and culturs depends of the place where you stay (practically in a 90 %). So, to me, couchsurfing is an oportunity to make new friends and grow up in the knowledge about another cultures of the world
