About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To actually LIVE before I die.. To see the places that heretofore unknown to me.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Idaho but have been all over the place. I like to read, write poetry, and fix computers. I have this deep-seeded desire to meet people of all different cultures and make friends with the best of them. I love to travel and see new places. I love art, culture, and a good dark beer so I'm pretty agreeable to all different kinds of people.

PHILOSOPHY

Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to host and have been hosted. Would love to meet more people from Newfoundlandland.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the immense pleasure of hosting a few surfers and look forward to more. So far my hosting experience has been very positive and I love that I get to make friends from all over. The only real 'couchsurfing' I've done was in Japan and France (and, recently, Newfoundland). I've had others arrange the places that I would stay but the experiences have left me with such a strong appreciation for meeting new people. I stayed with 3 different families in Japan and one in France. Several years ago, my mother began a home exchange deal with people in France and she always came back with the greatest stories and I was always so jealous so I see this as my opportunity to come up with my own.

Interests

Well, I'm kind of a country girl that was raised like a lady but listens to good ol' rock and roll. I love beer, billiards, whiskey, travel, classic French literature, good friends, good times, and barbecue sauce. I love playing poker, visiting antique bookstores, dancing, cigars, and the mountains.. Any mountains. I'm not too big on shopping unless someone else is buying, I've been to France and Japan and all over the US. I love good stories, good music and cooking huge meals for good friends or foreigners. I love to play chess so anyone who is interested in a game is welcome to challenge me.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Count of Monte Cristo, The 45 Guardsmen, Madame Bovary, A Tale Of Two Cities (read that one three times), for movies, I love The Boondock Saints, A Very Long Engagement, ... really, any action. For music, I'm pretty much all over the place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the Musee de Rodin in France, I touched the foot of The Thinker.... My little brother had to one-up-me by sticking his finger in The Thinker's nose. Totally ruined my shock value.

Teach, Learn, Share

Never date a person that forgets a cantaloupe in their backseat for 6 months then gets mad at you for throwing away the maggot filled shopping bag when you're cleaning out their car.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Japan, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In
