About Me

There's not really one place to start when describing who I am because I'm from many different backgrounds and hold plenty of ideals in my head. To think more objectively though:

I'm an American with wanderlust, mostly amused by good music, literature, and art. Usually carrying an optimistic view, I tend to be a liberally minded person but try to respect all walks of life. Consistently trying to learn something new ranging from languages, instruments, technology, or miscellaneous.

Trying to be adventurous as everyone tells me I'm young but I feel constantly my fleeting youth. College loans get me down, but don't stop me from the things I love to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm finally living farther from home with the opportunity to explore the world. I find travelling alone pretty exhausting mentally, and want to welcome the chance to meet people with a similar spirit or completely unique lifestyle to me.

Also, hoping to see the world can function on generosity and friendship.

Interests

Running is my religion.

Reading books in the hope that it will inspire me to write one.

Discovering and discussing great music with great beer.

And Magic the Gathering for what it's worth.

Music, Movies, and Books

The soundtrack to my life is as diverse as the people I meet. Seriously anything from Led Zeppelin to Death Cab to Childish to Beyonce to Rusko to Kanye.

Movies are more clear cut. Matrix wins, but favorite directors include Christopher Nolan, Danny Boyle, David Fincher, and Chris Columbus.

My favorite book is The Chocolate War by Robert Cromier.
A book that changed my life is House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski.
A book that I admire is World War Z by Max Brooks.
And of course, Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moved to New York without a plan.

Teach, Learn, Share

All of the above.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make a decent meal, I enjoy being active, I'll talk in English and can make attempts at any other language.

A fantastic teacher of mine once said the correct answer to any rational request is "yes," and I try to go out into the world with that on my mind.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Germany, Mexico, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Japan, United States
