About Me

I'd spent 20 years of my life in St-Petersburg before my wife and I decided to move to Europe in 2021. While creating e-courses, editing videos, and podcasting I'm raising my daughter to be bilingual (well technically trilingual, but German is for free :)

You can take a glance at a list of my likes and dislikes paying attention only to the titles. If you want to get more extended information, you can read a lot of stuff underneath.

LIKES

My daughter

She was born in 2020. If you have children of the same age, we are likely to become friends :)

New Ideas

I often implement something new in my life or change the routine.

To Be Useful

When I can be useful to someone and feel that any information I share has a response in someone's mind. If I something recommend to you (book, film, play, food) and you know that you aren't going to read it, watch it, or eat it just say it to me honestly. Because I need to know that we have a dialogue, not a chitchat.

Feedback

Give and get feedback on the things people share with me or I share with them. I have a list of books, a list of films, and a list of places to visit. Almost all of the entries in these lists are from the people around me. I like to express my opinion on the things they recommended. I think it's important and shows that you not only hear a person but listen and pay attention to what he or she says.

Sport

I work out 3 times a week and do yoga in the morning. Snowboarding is what we do in winter.

DISLIKES

Getting Drunk

A big party with a lot of alcohol and a bunch of drunk people around is rarely on my list. I'm not a teetotaler but I can have fun and good conversation without alco or restrict its consumption to the 2 or 3 glasses of wine or beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since we currently live in a very small town in Germany, I find it hard to find like-minded people. I've decided to give Couchsurfing a go as a tool for meeting new people rather than hosting or being hosted.

Interests

You can take a glance at a list of my interests just having a look at the titles. If you want to get more extended information, you can read lots of stuff underneath.

Languages

First of all, I'm keen on learning languages, I find it fascinating. I didn't know English well 3 years ago. I couldn't ever open my mouth and say something. But then there was a kind of CLICK in my head and I've tried to learn it on my own. I'd been obsessed with learning and one year later I wondered if I can learn one more language besides English or it will be too hard. I took up Spanish and understood that there are no any difficulties whatsoever until you enjoy the process. At the end of 2015, I've taken up German because I needed it for work. I'm in 2018 now and I successfully passed FCE exam and got B2. Then I passed TELC (German) and got B1. I haven't taken any Spanish exam but I'm quite confident of speaking it.

Theatres

If you live in St-Petersburg and don't go to the theatres, you'd better find another place to live in. :)

Literature

I read every day I can't live without it. Reading a book is the same as getting to know a new person.

Travelling

I think it doesn't necessary to tell a lot about it on this website.

Board games

I like spent weekends playing the board games with my friends, especially the ones where you have to think a lot: Die Siedler von Catan, Jackal, Pandemic Legacy
