About Me

I haven't slept on a couch for over 12 months! Lately I've been in a whirlwind of small children and burying myself in full-time vocation, with not enough vacations. Fortunately, this leaves me able to offer the occasional couch.

When I travelled more I found that the road sometimes lacked the romance of the stories I'd heard, but the people that I met along the way surprised and inspired me beyond my imagination.

Kiri my capable companion and I travelled for a long time and the kindness of strangers and distant friends was a blessing. We WWOOFed some, though never had any uptake in our random attempts to couch surf... except unofficially with people we knew. Now we have put down some roots for a bit and are looking to travel through the company and stories of others... oh and our garden isn't in ship enough shape yet to be WWOOFing hosts.... ha ha

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently watching Dexter and House of Cards, best-ever is True Detective S01... it's all about the dialogue.

I read a lot for work (papers about Attachment Therapies), but the last novel I enjoyed was The Old Man and the Sea.

My sister gave me Dear Sugar during some rough times recently and I am a huge fan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once embroiled myself in a Mutiny on a sailing boat. It was a bloodless coup, but people's feelings were hurt. I have also run a half-marathon which nearly killed me but, contrarily, I felt great after.

Teach, Learn, Share

I make good coffee and know a lot about parent-infant relationships and their psychological shadows... that sound potentially harsh on my parents, but this is my work at the moment.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Croatia, Egypt, England, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Ireland, Laos, Malaysia, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Viet Nam
