About Me

Hi! I am new to Couchsurfing! My roommate, before he moved in, had couch surfed and hosted. I decided to join and recently hosted my first Couch surfer! I live in a 1000sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. I occupy the master bed and bath and my roommate, Michael, occupies the second bedroom. The third bedroom is a 20 year old male that I am mentoring. That bedroom has a twin size bed which Dustin is willing to let you use while here. I also have a comfy couch and could even put a tent up in yard. I work on in 2 different hospitals and am involved in quite a bit of other activities. I am happy to share more information about myself as needed.

I live in Brunswick, Maine which is 30 minutes North of Portland; 35 minutes South of Augusta and 15 minutes from the coast. Other nearby towns: Bath, Freeport, Boothbay Harbor, Harpswell, Orr's Island, Bailey Island, Wiscasset, and Topsham. Brunswick is home of Bowdoin College. We are a small town of 20,000 or so but with a wonderful array of big city dining. Seafood, American, Chinese, Japanese, German, Irish, Mexican, Thai, Italian, Indian, and more! In addition, our quaint downtown has shops, cafes, a cozy movie theater, bars, museums, galleries, shows, and culture.

While here, I and/or Michael can show you around, take a hike, bike, trip to coast, camp, or, if you just need to relax. Michael may also be available to take you kayaking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently had a roommate move in who told me about his experiences with couchsurfing. He explained how this works, his experiences, his connections to people from all over the world . He was a host at his previous home and missed it. I think this would be a fantastic opportunity to meet so many people, listen to stories of their travels and to share what I know about Maine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love comedies including The Heat and Identity Theft. I also love independent films, documentaries, dramas and have a wide range movie collection.

I enjoy all types of music from classical to classic rock, folk music to world music and also have a wide variety collection. My first instrument was the organ when I was in second grade; the 12 string guitar in 5th gr (my primary instrument now); the flute in 8th grade as well as accordion! I recently tried ukulele,; just purchased a mandolin, and eventually want to play the hammer dulcimer! I wrote my first song in 8th grade. I believe the healing power of music and how music can motivate us, relax, elevate our moods, calm us down, and just plain make us feel good!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met Neil Armstrong and Maya Angelou! I also recently auditioned for a show which will be filmed both for the national campaign that it represents and for a documentary that is almost done filming which is the story about one of the founders of the non profit here in Maine that made global news!
