About Me

I am an easy going mature female that loves to have fun and meet new people. I am well known for my deep laugh that comes out easily and often. My nickname is Dimples. My motto is: I like to let the flow take me where I'm supposed to go! I enjoy food, great story telling, and love to try things I haven't tried before. If you know about Myer's briggs' personality profiles I am an ENFP. If you don't, what is an ENFP you might ask?
ENFP stands for.......

EXTROVERTED -energized by time with others
INTUITIVE -focus on idea and concepts
FEELING -prioritize people and emotions
PERCEIVING -prefer freedom and flexibility

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend suggested I try couch surfing since I am very social. I have been fortunate to have traveled a lot in my life and my most memorable experiences are actually not the sights I've seen but the people that I have met along the way that made my experiences so delightful! I will be hosting myself (even if I don't end of staying with others) after my current house improvement projects are completed. I have a nice spare bedroom and home to share in a very lovely town in Central Oregon. I host many friends that come from all over because everyone likes to visit here. Especially if they are skiers beacause the mountain is very close by to town.

Interests

Travel is my biggest passion but I have others as well. I am an avid reader and love to hear stories. I have been in the same bookclub with the same awesome ladies for 8 yrs! My favorite radio shows are This American Life and the Moth radio hour. I adore dancing and have done many styles including West African, Rueda (It's Cuban sqquare dancing.) hooping and belly dancing. Want to learn to swing dance next! I have been a yogini for over 25 yrs. I live near Mt Bachelor so I alpine and nordic ski as well as snowshoe. I enjoy mtn biking, organic gardening, hiking, camping, and mushroom hunting (yummy edibles), In the summer I volunteer in medical for several music festivals. It is a great way to contribute and help out all while getting to hear great new music. I go to hotsprings as much as possible and where I live I'm fortunate enough to live relatively close to some nice ones. I am also a long time burner which means I attend one of the coolest art and music festivals on the planet every year in the Black Rock desert of Neveda called Burning Man.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Pandora radio and have may different stations as i like many different kinds of music. My movie tastes are also eclectic and I enjoy documentaries, indies and foreign films as well as a big hollywood blockbusters occasionally. I read at least a book a month and sometimes 2 or 3. A few that have stuck with me lately, "The color of Water", " The Art of Racing in the Rain", "Shantaram", and currently I am reading Brene Brown's "The Gifts of Imperfection. I adore anything by Pema Chodren and am drawn to buddhist philosophy. I listen to NPR and OBP radio. I also like to see or hear funny comedians.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I bungee jumped off a bridge over water in New Zealand and also did tandom skydiving. Both were equally amazing because I am afraid of heights!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

My job as an Acupuncturist is all about teaching how to live a healthier life. I love that aspect of my job as I love to teach but I am always open to learning new things and my clients also teach me as well. Everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student if one stays open to growing. I go to Burning Man because of the generosity of the community and for the sharing that it inspires in people. It is a gifting culture there. No money is exchanged except for ice, coffee, tea. Everything is made by and for the community. Highly recommend it. It may change your life!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter and a kind heart and many stories of life's adventures if interested. I can also share an ear. I am a good listener and am intersted in other's stories. Also, I live in an amazing place where a river runs through my town. Oregon is a beautiful place and Bend, Or is where most Oregonians and many former Californians like myself want to live!
