Overview
About Me
I've been traveling the globe on and off with my partner Sophia for the last 8 years with a focus on service/volunteering. This journey started with taking a year break from my career as a Social Worker to see the world, that was is 2013 and here I am still exploring this beautiful planet. I've tried to settle back into my "normal" life, but always find a convenient excuse to book a one way flight. We dont travel as much as we used to but find a way to get on the road for a few months a year. I love my nomadic lifestyle and my passion for adventure keeps me going. I've spent most of my adult years living in community in some form or another, so sharing space comes with comfort and ease. I try to maintain a clean/healthy lifestyle and eat a mostly plant based diet (I'm a huge foodie). I try not to take myself or the world to serious and I'm know for my laugh. I clean up after myself and always do the dishes (with exception of hosts that insist on doing them). I make a strong point to respect the local culture and traditions. We are all here to enjoy this precious life. My partner Sophia is currently in grad school pursuing her masters in Art Therapy. We are big gardeners, plant people with knowledge about natural medicine/herbalism. We both love to dance/see live music and seek out opportunities wherever we are. We don't smoke or vape but don't mind if you. Sophia is a glass of wine or margarita on occasion kind of person and I do not drink at all again don't mind if you do as long as it's in a healthy way, we still like to have a good time and go dancing. Sophia speaks decent Spanish and I'm trying to learn aka Sophia is my translator 😀. We are currently in Mexico for the 5th time as we love this beautiful country, people and most importantly the food.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To connect with local/global culture! I love to connect and meet knew people, cook for them (or cook together), and show them around my lovely community in the great pacific northwest.
Interests
Food is a huge part of my life- eating, cooking, learning and sharing. I try to maintain a yoga and meditation practice and enjoy studying/learning about different spiritual practices and world religions. Music and dance light up my soul in a way that not many things can- I will listen to any music that has passion behind. I love getting out into nature, swimming in natural waters, beaches, hotsprings, trekking and exploring the native wildlife. Getting to know about how different people and cultures think and view the world- Couchsurfing is a wonderful tool to expand on this interest. I love volunteering my time to help people and the earth, if there is ever an opportunity to be of service I welcome it fully. I could go on an adventure or simply sit at home with a cup of tea and be happy. I find joy in a good chat or just sitting in silence.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- Music that get my body moving, music that calms my nervous system, music that makes me cry, music that channels my emotions, music I can feel.
Abscure documentaries are my favorite, indie/art house films, comedies, coming of age films, and sci-fi. Sophia loves nature documentaries, Anime (Miyazaki & Avitar)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Building a life around the word "amazing". Being amazed by the simple and exrodinary. Keeping a child like mind that lives in wonder.
Teach, Learn, Share
When I'm home or traveling with a nice place (I've hosted people well working on a project in Kathmandu) you're always welcome. We have a separate CS account for our former community house where we have hosted many others. I love to learn local recipes!! Teach me how to cook your traditional food! I really like to see how people live their lives
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am well practiced in non-violent communication, I'm always open to share my vegan cooking skills, I'm a yoga teacher and can share a bit of acro-yoga, stories from traveling, songs from around the world, garden tips, good conversation, empathy, friendship, and laughter.
