ABOUT ME
I'm pretty easy going, mostly because I don't usually have a plan. I like to have a laugh and I love doing new things, so I'm always up for suggestions!
I enjoy the overall experience of travelling - meeting new people and discovering new places - knowing that I'm seeing or doing something for the very first time.
I also really like trying new food and, although I'm vegetarian, I have sampled the odd insect, snail and guinea pig along the way.
After spending 10yrs as an organic gardener, I've recently switched professions and now spend my days being paid to go on Facebook & Twitter.
One day I will have the best of both worlds and be paid to sit in a garden playing around on Facebook & Twitter. One day..
PHILOSOPHY
"It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice"
-- Mary Poppins maybe?
"Be excellent to eachother!"
-- Bill & Ted
"It's not what you look like when you're doing what you're doing, it's what you're doing when you're doing what you look like you're doing."
-- Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love meeting people. I surf whenever I can and host when I can. I've met lots of great people through CouchSurfing and like to meet up with people socially even if I'm not surfing or hosting.
If you've been nice enough to offer me your couch - I won't eat your food (unless offered of course!), I'll do the dishes and I will probably leave you with a bottle of wine or something nice.
After all, this is a social network, not free b&b!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed, hosted, met for coffee, taken part in a CS collective for a few weeks and made some awesome lifelong friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I have very eclectic tastes - my mp3 playlist includes electroswing, techno, punk, bossa nova, gypsie folk, rock, reggae, disco, jazz, funk and cheesy listening... I'm always up for a new genre! Oh, and I'm a bit of a podcast nerd...
Books: Some of my favourite authors are: Haruki Murakami, Tom Robbins, Douglas Adams, Peter Carey. I also love Graphic Novels (ie. comics). Looking back on this list, I guess I like well written, weird stories.
Movies: Usually "art-house" (again with the weird stories), black comedy, documentary, 70s sci-fi.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm amazed by at least one thing every day...
Teach, Learn, Share
I travel to learn about people and be inspired by what inspires others. I love to be challenged and to see things from a different perspective.
I am also a garden nerd. I love plants, ecology and organic gardening and I am very interested in sharing this kind of knowledge. I want to learn about gardens of the world, especially edible and other useful plants.
