About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live life as an adventure.

ABOUT ME

I'm generally a pretty laid back guy and living a little more recently. I lived in Ontario, Canada all my life until moving to Vancouver in the summer of 2013. I've done a fair bit of travelling around Canada, the US and Europe with my family (mom, dad, and sister Kaitie). Easy to get along with and accepting of other people's values.

PHILOSOPHY

Out to enjoy life and the people in it, and leave the world in a better place than I found it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined after surfing on a number of couches on a cycling trip through Michigan and Ontario. I was blown away by their generosity and trust with a total stranger. Now that I've got my own place, I take every chance to host people who are passing through. I love the opportunity to hear about their travels and home towns, and to be a part of their experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of my surfing has been on cycling trips to Chicago and Memphis. Hosting these days, but will always keep CSing in mind when a trip comes up.

Interests

I have a life-long love of cycling. First it was mountain biking, and more recently cycle touring and longer trips. Ultimate frisbee keeps me busy as well. I enjoy it more than any other organized sport I've ever played - the strategy and athleticism, people and sense of community. Photography is another interest of mine and I enjoy the creativity and beauty of it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Burn Notice, Breaking Bad and Modern Family. Great shows. Favorite movie: the usual suspects. Favorite author: Malcolm Gladwell.

I've been following some early retirement blogs like Mr Money Mustache and thinking hard for the first time about what's important in life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Being a cyclist and engineer, I'm handy with bikes and most mechanical things.

I enjoy taking the time to prepare good meals for myself and others, and have picked up a solid set of skills in the process.
