About Me

UPDATE:
I can´t host anybody at the moment.

CURRENT MISSION

Have a good time with my son and try to get enough sleep ;-)

ABOUT ME

Wow, ALL about myself is a big thing. Maybe I could write it if I knew all about myself myself. So far I´m still learning.

Apart from that I´m a teacher for history and maths and live in a house near Vienna with my little son. As long as I´ve been living alone, there were times when I liked to be for myself, lay in my hammok with a good book or just walk through a town and watch whats going on around. And there were times when I loved to be with other people, listen and talk about life, love or whatever´s fascinating at the moment, or just having a really funny time with complete nonsense.
Now, I spend most of my free time with my boy. Life changes.... :-)
I still love to take photos though I´ll never understand my camera technically, I love good food (both cooking and eating, but unfortunately I lost my ability for cooking well through pregnancy... ), art and music though I never manage to remember artist´s names or titels.
Oh yes, and I love my brompton! the best bike in the world :-)
Well, that´s definitely not all, but I hope enough.

PHILOSOPHY

I read a good quote by Richard Holbrooke today. He compared diplomacy to jazz and i think it´s pretty suitable for life: "a constant improvisation on a theme, always looking for new harmonies"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I´ve hostet people here in my home near Vienna and I´ve stayed with people I met via cs during my travels.
I like this sort of contact with differnt peoples from different countries and so long my experiences were really positive!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I said above, I´ve had good experiences both with hosting and with being guest via cs.

Interests

books, food, art, music, history, doing nothing at all, learning new things, traveling, and - I must admit - maths (it can be really cool!)

Music, Movies, and Books

It´s usually the book (or rather the books) I´m reading at the moment. I usually like Ian McEwan, Connie Palmen, Jhumpa Lahiri, Hanif Kureishi, ... Reading Tolstoi at the moment and I never thought I´d appreciate it that much!
Concerning music: world music, Cesaria Evora, Giannmaria Testa, Polo Montanez, Astor Piazzolla, Jazz, Fiorella Mannoia, Italian sing-a-song-writers, Mahler, Bach, Vivaldi,...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It´s often the small things I find amazing. Sometimes I´m lucky and have my camera with me and can capture them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I teach maths and history professionally.
