Hey! I'm Eleanor and I'm 23 years old. I graduated from University two years ago and since then I've been travelling and working intermittently. I'm currently attempting a 'Year of Yes', where I say yes to anything I possibly can. I've decided to make a go of a longer-term travelling trip around Europe, as sharing life experiences with other people in new cultures is, I think, an incredible opportunity and what makes life worth living for me. Through my journey's before, I have realised how much of a different experience each new place is when you know someone local. I'm really excited about experiencing the genuine aspects of a country/place, rather than just the tourist veneer. I am a voracious reader and I am curious about everything - I love to learn and understand, especially about people. If I stayed with you I would love to learn about you, what you love, what you've done in your life and hopefully give something back to you. I love music (I sing, play guitar and play piano) and I love books. I am a massive foodie and love to cook (as well as eat!). I'm very active, whether that's hiking, climbing, swimming or cycling. I love people, more than anything, which is one of my main reasons for travelling. I've always found the days I've enjoyed most are those spent with interesting people and sharing cultures rather than necessarily those ticking off all the "tourist" boxes.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Sharing cultures, interests, and meeting new people are very important to me. I think that it enriches a person so much more than just seeing different cities. I appreciate a more personal aspect, in getting to know a host, maybe sharing their language, interests and culture, rather than the clinical feel of a hotel. I am switching between hostels and couch surfing on this trip in order to get a rounded experience. I have not been able to host anyone myself, as I have been living with my mum in a very small flat, or travelling. When I am physically able, I would love to give back to the couch surfing community and share my own home with you.
Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is very eclectic and I like a lot of different genres and artists! At the moment some of my favourites are... Loyle Carner Anderson Paak A Tribe Called Quest Tom Misch Lucy Rose I'm a total bookworm and never go anywhere without a book. I can't choose I favourite but, as I graduated with an English degree, I did a lot of reading and found a lot of great authors. Some of my favourite books are... Man's Search for Meaning (Viktor Frankl) Nineteen Minutes (Jodi Picoult) The Picture of Dorian Gray (Oscar Wilde) Between the World and Me (Ta-Nehisi Coates)
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Taught seventy-nine 18-25 year old Kenyan students in entrepreneurship, business skills, and self-esteem classes. Many gained work placements after some successful interview practices and I'm still in touch with a lot of them :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be very happy to share my language (English) with anyone who would like to improve theirs. I would also be happy to cook for a night while I'm staying. It would be lovely to share music with my host, talk about books, politics, the world, or films that they've enjoyed. I would really like to see the genuine culture of the country I'm visiting, rather than just the tourist veneer.
What I Can Share With Hosts
Happiness, passion for life, my language, music, stories from my travels, my many opinions, and an ear for you to tell me about your life.
