About Me

23-year-old journalist and historian interested in post-Soviet period and urban studies. Adore walking-passing-wandering around my native city and new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My greatest passion is to explore new places and meet new people there. I'm really interested in how persons, brought up in different cultures and circs, percept the world and choose their lifestyles.

Also I'm looking for an opportunity to see the world and improve my colloquial English.

Interests

Walking, learning,  books, bicycle, texts and articles, mass media, social networks, history, social science, urban studies, modern art (keen on galleries as beautiful and well-illuminated spaces, but can't keep in mind any names of principal artists:)), writing poems and so on

Music, Movies, and Books

Authors:
Erlend Loe, Kurt Vonnegut, Ernest Hemingway, Jonathan Safran Foer, John R. R. Tolkien, Victor Pelevin, Ilf&Petrov and many others

Movies:
Almost everything directed by David Lynch, La vita è bella, The Truman Show, Everything is illuminated, Lord of the Rings, Movies with Keira Knightley, old Soviet films...

By the way:
Fan of "Friends", "Black books" and "How I met your mother" sitcoms, "Sherlock" with Cumberbatch and "Adventure time" with Finn and Jake :)

Also:
It is really an exclusive case when I read some book or watch a movie for second time. That's because I'm afraid that my life is too short to consume all the amazing content in the world. So I have to hurry up :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Managed not to kiss Oscar Wilde's headstone and not to spit from the top of the Eiffel Tower while being in Paris (but visited Vladimir Lenin's apartment on the Mary-Rose st., 4)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to prepare perfect (at least, just not bad) lentil soup (it's really not so hard!) and tell how to differ architecture of ancient Greece from architecture of ancient Rome. But, actually, I like listening more than speaking. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In

Russian Federation
