ABOUT ME

It's hard to say anything without sounding like Miss America. I'm adventurous, open minded, curious, energetic, and passionate about people. I'm working on developing a creative arts therapy program for girls and women who are survivors of sex slavery.

I despise and loathe violence against women and live every day fighting against it.

PHILOSOPHY

My friend's grandmother said I must be some kind of genius because I ask a lot of questions. That might be my philosophy- curiosity. (I'm not a genius btw. I just care a lot).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't hosted or surfed yet- I just opened my account. But I have tons of friends who have and have loved it, so I wanted to join the party! Woohoo!

Interests

Reading, green tea, rock climbing, yoga, surfing (or trying to, I mostly just swallow water), trying to look cool as I ride my fixed gear bike, smelling quality cinnamon, discussing existential issues like how to appropriately cook tofu or how to take the shells off a boiled egg. I tried paddle surfing the other day, and it rocked.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Village. Documentaries.

Music: Anything from Bon Iver and The Lumineers to Miles Davis to obscure French screamo to electronic to drum and bass to reggae to shoegaze.

Books: What a hard one to tackle. It's best if we just sat down over a beer and talked about this one, because the list is endless. Right now I'm re-reading Half the Sky and about to re-read some good old Hemingway.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I bungee jump, cliff dive, and go for anything that will set my adrenaline off the charts.

I also saw a man once carry a tree. On his head. On top of a motorcycle. With three goats.

I've been practicing yoga for over 7 years and make some pretty killer burritos.
