About Me

i'm a huge biomechanics/somatics nerd. i can study and talk about the human body and human movement forever. more than anything, i love to move.

been wandering about for awhile now. lived at a zen temple, then a multi-generational community caring for the community elder members with physical and/or cognitive decline. spent a lot of time caring for my father, who has dementia and parkinsons.

i've also been training to become a feldenkrais practitioner. feldenkrais is a method of getting better at everything by learning how to pay attention to ourselves through the body in a very particular way.

now i'm looking forward to landing. it's coming soon, i think. i've seen a lot in my travels, that's for sure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

first and foremost, i believe in the mutual benefit, non-capitalistic ethos of couchsurfing. i've coachsurfed several times now. i've always really enjoyed spending time with the interesting and interested people i've met through CS, and getting the opportunity to see their town through their eyes.

Interests

Dancing, Feldenkrais, contact improv, bicycle riding, getting lost, conversing about big things, conversing about little things, not conversing.

-the corrections
-bailey's cafe

Favorite recently-read non-fiction
-the thinking body
-job's body

I listen to a lot of different types of music, but I do recognize that the best music ever came out of Jamaica in the late 1960s.
