Update March 2023

Currently on a gap year and unable to host because, well, I'm hardly ever in Milan hahah. After 6 beautiful months spent working in Amsterdam, I'm now about to embark on a beautiful 2 month trip, travelling Japan north to south, Hokkaido to Okinawa. またね!
(I really hope that means "see you soon!", I'd like to pick up some Japanese during my travels but I'm currently at level 0 xD )

Hello to all fellow surfers, Elia here!
I'm a young pastaboy who was raised travelling; me and my mother have travelled much of Europe and north Africa together and she taught me the beauty in discovering new cultures and sharing my own.
I'm trained as an interior designer and I'm a self-taught photographer and 3D artist. Since graduating, I've decided to take my passion around the globe, working and learning whenever and wherever. Sucking up inspiration brings me joy, and I do with art, reading, music or simply by immersing myself in nature.
Lastly, I love to cook, eat and drink - preparing and/or sharing a meal and a drink with someone makes me the most happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing to better explore new places, and after using it for a few years I basically can't go anywhere without it. As a solo traveler, having great and unusal conversations, sharing meals and bonding with complete strangers is one of the best things I could ask for.
As soon as I get a place of my own, I’d like to host travelers here in Milan, in order to give back and teach others about the city I grew up in.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've always had an omnivore taste - I'll listen, watch, read, and eat anything.

Music
Hip-hop has been a constant all my life, in all of it's various forms. MF Doom, TTC, Fugees, Kendrick and the list goes on and on and on and on....
recently berlin techno, techno body, and house have entered my musical universe - you'll catch me headbanging with my headphones on or raving until 4am around Europe.
Having said that, I usually have a more calm side and enjoy triphop and experimental groups, such as Zero7 and Smoke City. I'd love to discover Jazz (Japanese Jazz especially) and classical music too, as I'm quite interested but also lacking in these fields...

Movies
Big arthouse cinema enthusiast, but I'll take a big blockbuster anytime (and might crack a few jokes at the obvious cliches)
Currently trying to get into anime - I’m really keen on the cyber-punk genre, i think the Ghost in the Shell movies are masterpieces but I’d also like to watch all the Ghibli movies!

I'm always eager to crack a few jokes and tell interesting stories.
