Overview
About Me
I like adventure, cheese, rainy nights, fellowship with friends, a fair amount of shenanigans, flossing my teeth, meeting strangers, and love me some old people.
I find life to be a constant evolution. I love to learn, travel, and just experience things fully. I enjoy following a moment to see where it will lead. Hopefully it leads to some adventure, a new friend, a tasty morsel, and if nothing else perhaps an awkward moment that through the passage of time transitions to a funny story.
I’m back in Asia exploring and teaching in China, Three years ago I was in South Korea teaching English to the cutest kindergartners around and ..."Getting lost in Seoul. I have a week off work before my classes begin in Beijing again on July 13th, so I’d love to explore China and meet amazing new friends along my journey:)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like meeting new people and learning about the world they call home. It is a great way to learn about a new place from a local. I've been couchsurfing in Asia with my friend Amanda on her account and we've met some awesome people and had wonderful experiences.
Interests
I like tennis, shiny things, cheese, reading, the number 7, friends, family, reading, travelling, and the adventures that life brings us.
Making Pros and Cons lists
*Baking. Then delivering baked goods to friends and some strangers. Please don't blame me for a sugar coma if some cookies wind up on a porch near you.** Addendum due to oven-less life. There is no oven in my new place. Oh NO! I shall have to come up with a new activity rather than baking....

Music, Movies, and Books
Steinbeck, Coetzee,Cormac McCarthy, Hesse, Hemingway, Austen, Tolstoy . Howard Roark and Mr. Darcy where my first heart pounding wish they were real literary crushes. Since reading Team of Rivals though...my true love might just be Abe Lincoln. I've been reading more non-fiction of late, but will always be up for new author recommendations or people passing me their favorite book ideas. I am working on a new reading list that deviates more from the literary canon.
Movies-Love so many of the classics. I am a big Christopher Guest fan. Waiting for Guffman always makes me smile, but Spinal Tap was my 1st love. I love Wes Anderson-Bottle Rocket&The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore, and Moonrise Kingdom, Love Actually, Amelie, Clue,,Shaun of the Dead Simon Pegg Makes me Happy,, The English Patient, Harold and Maude, It happened one night, Hitchock movies, Unforgiven and Gran Torino, Bonnie and Clyde, The Princess Bride....so many more too hard to choose.
Music- I love many types of music, 50's girl groups, hip hop(this is the music one must listen to truly make one's booty shake)british rock, Soul man do I love me some soul, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, The Pixies, Lee Dorsey,Wilco, The Kinks, Beach Boys Pet Sounds, Pulp, Eugene Mcdaniels is one of my favorite.
