Overview
About Me
Hosting Couchsurfer’s brings me a healthy joy. I began hosting because it was difficult for me to figure out volunteer jobs I could get to. Couch Surfing was a way for me to give to others. My goal is to be a positive part of a person’s time in Atlanta.
For Women especially:

Real important: For everyone:about Couch Surfing: I may not accept your request unless you appear to have read my profile.
I also am learning that have a rebel mindset. I’m learning to get things done the way a rebel would. I’m spontaneous and try to be as authentic as possible. I’m trying to learn how to get things done instead of beating myself up. My learning says to write real specific goals.
That’s one thing I’ve learned so far.
Please let me just be aware of your plans when you write and ask to stay with me. I like to know that a person is prepared and that I’m not going to have to figure things out for them. That’s all it is. If someone finds out that they need to/would like to stay another night and asks me while at my apartment, that’s fine. Please just have plans before you write to ask to stay with me and let me know you are prepared.
⭐️⭐️⭐️Helpful information About Finding a Host & Sending Requests:
Personalize Every Request: Address your host by name, mention specific things from their profile you connect with, and explain why you want to meet them.
Be Specific: Suggest a stay of a few nights and mention what you'd like to do or share.
Send Multiple Requests: Don't just take the first offer; send a few requests to increase your chances. Have a back up, in case things don’t work out somehow.
My Instagram address is Try_compassion_and_compassion!
Please let me know if you contact me on Instagram . I barely ever go to Facebook or Instagram or my e-mail, unless someone lets me know that he/she messaged me there.
Since the trip to Atlanta is about you, I’ve completely revised my “ABOUT ME” page. I’m still working on more re-visions. That said, please read some of the reviews that at least 100 Couchsurfer’s have written about me and staying with me before reading this page. You will hopefully learn more about me than I could ever try and tell you. I will be looking at yours, also.
⭐️ Safety & Etiquette information for couchsurfing: from the internet:
Johnny Depp is my internet name. I can tell you my password when you arrive. (Johnny Depp is also the name of my dog.)
Communicate: Message potential hosts beforehand to get a feel for their personality.
Have a Backup: Always have a plan B (another host, hostel, or bar) in case you feel uncomfortable.
Be a Great Guest: Clean up after yourself, respect house rules (like taking off shoes), offer to help, and be a part of the experience, not just a freeloader.
Inform Someone: Tell a friend or family member your host's name and location
I’m so grateful for your interest in staying with me in Atlanta! My home is a space where I enjoy providing a safe fun, space for / with fellow Couchsurfer’s. I want to create a welcoming atmosphere and I also hope for a mutual understanding of what hosting means to me.
🦋To keep the ambiance friendly and vibrant, I typically prefer shorter stays, ideally no more than four nights.
🦋This helps maintain the special connection I aim to build with each guest. For those who have stayed with me before or if you have a unique story to share, I wholeheartedly welcome longer visits with open arms. I really prefer stays of three nights or less and having females, because I’m female, can be a lot easier on me. Also, if someone just involves themselves with the couchsurfing community mainly so that they have a free place to stay, without having hosted others already, I’m very hesitant to host the party/person. Couch surfing is couch surfing is not a hotel service or a hostel organizations or anything like that. (People have asked to stay with me for over four nights and I reject them immediately.). People who show a specific indication of having read my profile with details about my profile I will honor and give almost all of and much more attention to.
🦋Thank you for your understanding! I truly appreciate your kindness and look forward to potentially sharing my space with you. You can make wonderful, fun, adventurous or relaxing, chill, no fuss memories .
Please know that this profile has been with me throughout my four apartments, so more edits may still need to be made. If you see writing about Colonial Homes 🏠 🏡 , for example, please notify me because I could not live in my home because of damage executed by Hurricane Helen . Please can you make me aware of where I still need to edit?
It’s November 2025 at the moment and I live at Walton Westside off Howell Mill and Huff Road zip code 30318. Please make me aware as to how you will arrive in Atlanta, GA and what time you will arrive. (bus, your own car, Lyft/Uber, train, airplane, motorcycle …, )
I can plan then how and where we can meet and talk before we enter this experience together.
I will have a fob and/or other information to give you to help you get around the security of this building with no problem, for example.
Couchsurfing profile tips from the Internet for beginners:
Couchsurfing for beginners means creating a detailed profile with photos, using the platform to meet locals first (Hangouts/Groups) to build references, and sending personalized requests when you find hosts, always prioritizing safety with backup plans and clear communication. The core idea is cultural exchange, so be a respectful, clean, and engaged guest who helps out and shares experiences, not just someone looking for a free bed.
⭐️🦋⭐️Be Detailed & Authentic: Fill out your profile completely with info about your interests, life philosophy, and recent photos to show you're a real person, not a bot.
Show Your Face: Upload a couple of clear, recent photos.
⭐️🦋⭐️Get Verified: Consider paying the small fee for verification to build trust.

. The end. Now this novel is over🙂🙃😉...
🌼be sure and write “Love was an incredible and amazing dog.” 🐕🦺🐾🐾🐾So I know you read my whole profile and you are selected over someone else for a particular day/night of being hosted , can you please write “Love was an incredibly awesome dog..“ When you write me and request to stay with me. Thank you ever so much. Thank you. Please please also tell me that you have a COVID-19 card to show me when you get here. I really appreciate that.
Please plan to spend time contributing to cleaning 🧽 🧹hair out of the apartment & bathroom if you shed hair when in your shower, cleaning your wet towels, putting up old sheets for new, sheets, 🧹 sweeping a little , cleaning the 🛀 bathroom some 🚽you used a little, doing your dishes throughout the visit, taking out your trash 🗑 the last day, putting the couch back together neatly, ….just pitching in to clean after yourself a little. No one is paying me to clean after Couchsurfer’s.
Please be honest with me and yourself. .If you support Trump, ICE Or anything Trump has decided sort of extreme Republican views, I am sorry, yet I cannot and will not host you. If you support anything having to do with Trump, please also find another place to rest. I apologize if I seem harsh. I’m not a mean or bad person. I may be doing something wrong by not accepting Trump supporters. He is destroying the United States and I never voted or supported or voted for him.
(Music: Miss America Pie)
A long, long time ago
I opened up my door
For surfers from afar
To sleep on my couch.
I miss you all so much
I miss you all, it's true
Eddie's Attic's the place to be
On Mondays, me, musicians and you.
(Chorus)
Couchsurfing, oh Couchsurfing
Long profiles I do write
With details and with rules
To make your stay just right.
No smoking, clean your mess
And be on time, it's true
Respect my boundaries, please
Or find another view.
I've hosted since two thousand seventeen
With Love, my dog so sweet,
But now she's gone to heaven
And hosting's in her honor.
(Chorus)
Couchsurfing, oh Couchsurfing
Long profiles I do write
With details and with rules
To make your stay just right.
No smoking, clean your mess
And be on time, it's true
Respect my boundaries, please
Or find another view.
So if you're coming to Atlanta
And seeking a place to stay,
Please help me arrange my apartment
So it’s a better place to rest.
.
(Chorus)
Couchsurfing, oh Couchsurfing
Long profiles I do write
With details and with rules
To make your stay just right.
No smoking, clean your mess
And be on time, it's true
Respect my boundaries, please
Or find another view.
Couchsurfing, oh Couchsurfing
A community so grand
Respect and reciprocity
Throughout this lovely land!

Music, Movies, and Books
🎶 I’m especially fond of hearing Queen, REM , U2 , Indigo Girls 💜Billy Joel 💜 John Denver Paul Mc Cartney I like almost all music from the 80’s on back, along with Flight of the Concords and some newer stuff.
Please, feel free to educate and share your taste of music with me.. 🐕🦺I adore, going to concerts. I love going to concerts. I’m going to Queen when they come to Atlanta. I could not afford any ticket but the nose bleeds. Still, that’ll be 🫅🏻!!!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve had the honor of living and being bonded , for 15 years, with an incredibly amazing soul in the form of a Black Labrador from a shelter in Texas who I named “Love.” I miss her dearly each night and day.🦝🦨🐾🐕🦺
I also survived The Cascade School in Whitmore, CA. And I have some positive memories. It was excruciatingly difficult emotionally and spiritually and mentally. I was one of the lucky ones.
I have extreme sadness and empathy for and compassion for and my heart 💜 and my total being goes out to the courageous, strong, loving , trusting people who were hit hard by the hard, frozen, powerful counselors . These counselors were trusted then, yet abused and misused their authority. I would like to put those manipulative ones away.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you that there is always hope.
I can share my dog with you. You’re going to fall in love. His name is Johnny Depp and people say he’s better looking than Johnny Depp. You can decide. He’s a British black lab and he was born January 11, 2022.
I can share my time with you sometimes, sometimes I can just share a couch and a space to sleep. It really depends on the day and the time, because sometimes I have time and sometimes I just don't.
I can share with you a second room in my home sometimes.
I can share my knowledge and experience from Couchsurfing as well. Here is an example of one way I help I helped someone who just wrote me. All the person said was “Sup.”
initial outreach messages have frequently begun with "Sup." It's a common abbreviation, and I can appreciate the desire for efficiency when connecting with a number of individuals.
Express: From my perspective, and based on what I've learned about effective communication, I feel it's truly vital to establish a sense of authentic connection from the very beginning. When an initial message is a generalized greeting like "Sup," it often doesn't convey the level of personal interest that I believe you intend. Frankly, if you sent "Sup" to 50 people, it rather underscores that it's not tailored to any one individual.
Assert: I would strongly recommend, and indeed ask, that you dedicate a little time to thoroughly review each person's profile before composing your message. My suggestion is to then craft an opening that genuinely reflects something specific and engaging from their profile, demonstrating your authentic interest. For instance, when you're writing to me for the first time, a simple "Sup" wouldn't quite meet the bar for a thoughtful initial communication.
Reinforce: The truth is, many people, myself included, might unfortunately overlook or even dismiss messages that lack a personal touch. It's often perceived as a lack of genuine engagement. By investing a moment more to personalize your opening, you're not just sending a message; you're signaling respect and a true desire to connect, which dramatically increases the likelihood of a positive and meaningful response. It's an investment that truly pays dividends in building rapport.
Mindful: I recognize that connecting with many people can be a time-consuming endeavor, and my intention here is purely to offer guidance that will enhance the quality and effectiveness of your interactions.
Appear Confident: I'm quite confident that adopting this more thoughtful approach will significantly elevate your engagement and lead to more fruitful connections.
Negotiate: Would you be willing to experiment with this approach for a while? Perhaps try highlighting one specific piece of information or a shared interest you noticed in a person's profile as your opening. I think you'll find it quite effective.
I sincerely hope this advice serves you well in your future endeavors!
