About Me
Hi there guys,
New to this community. I'm currently travelling through Europe this summer; specifically Italy and portugal, in the hopes of meeting like minded people and new connections.
I am irish born, but living in Valencia, for the last 2 years.
As we would say in Ireland, I'm quite good craic! Meaning I'm always up for a good time. A very sociable and curious human bean, I enjoy meeting with people from all walks of life to discover more about myself and the world around me. My friends describe me as a conversationalist, which I'd have to agree with (that's not to say I can be quiet and observant when i need to be).
I'm really proactive, and by saying that, I'm always trying new projects. I've a very creative side, and enjoy drawing, painting, and making pieces of art for my friends. I have a deep passion for words. Writing them, reading them, hearing them. So I'm an avid reader.
Recently, I began a podcast with another friend as a creative venture and I organise open mic nights in my vicinity, where people can come and share pieces they've written in a safe, inspiring space.
I'm really motivated with being more connected to myself and the world around me. I think the best way for me to do this is on a communal basis, where I can learn new skills from others, listen to stories and try new experiences among others. Hence my exploration here on couch surfing.
It would be great to make new friends through this platform!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Im travelling through Italy and Portugal this summer, and thought this would be a creative way of meeting new people in the cities I pass through, learning a bit of their culture while doing an exchange with mine.!
Hopefully that's doable ahaha!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a big fan of Roddy doyle books currently. He's an irish author and reading him always feels like home.
I'm trying to read 12 books in the year this year, and my favourite so far is Outline by Rachel Cusk.
In regards to music, I've been listening to a similar variety of indie 70s rock for the past I don't know how long. Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, Velvet underground, Nico- there's a bit of a variety in my favourites. But I also just love anything I can sing along or bop around to.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been in living in valencia for the past 2 years, and in the past year I started an open mic night. My friends are very creative, and I thought why not have a space where people can come, have the floor and share any piece they've made themselves or would love to share with the group?
They've all been very successful, and no cost at all! I am unfortunately living valencia now, but I hope to take these nights with me wherever I move to next.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught english in an english academy in spain for a year, and can do this!
What I Can Share with Hosts
In practical terms, I can share the cost of any living products with hosts. Food, water, any communal ammenities.
I can also share cooking, cleaning and just good times. Im a very good roommate to my current roommates, and promise i would be an even better visitor to you.
I am honest, respectful and a nice person. just looking to make friends along the way.
