Hello ! I share a name, Ella Maillard, with a writer and traveler 100 years my elder. Just like her, I explore and create, always curious to step out of the beaten path and my confort zone. After a year in Peru and Latin America, I'm going East to Romania, the country from which my mother and grandparents migrated in 1984, fourty years ago. Although I am Romanian by blood, my relationship to this land has only been indirect for now: I do not speak the language because I was raised in French, I have never met some of my aunts and cousins, I don't really know how Romania looks like because I have seen only a few pictures..., and yet I know how Romania tastes like, for that I only need to close my eyes and imagine that I am having lunch at my grandmother's. This journey is very special to me because not only does it allow me to reconnect with my roots but it's also an opportunity for me to dedicate myself to art, as I will be working for seven months as a volunteer-artist on a project in Romanian Moldova. I absolutely love creating in any kind of way (let it be drawing, painting, sculpting and writing), I love to cook and invent new recipes (usually with my brother or whoever is willing to help and have a good time), and I really like mountains and backpacking as well as so many more things that I'd love to share with you!
